Escape to this peaceful Creekfront cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains, located just minutes from Crabtree Falls and the Appalachian Trail. Bear Creek Inn is a comfortable 3-bedroom cottage with a large fenced yard, perfect for guests traveling with dogs.

Relax beside the year-round trout stream, gather around the outdoor fire pit, or enjoy quiet mornings listening to the creek from the sunroom. The property offers plenty of space to unwind while still being close to the best of Nelson County.

Outdoor lovers will enjoy easy access to George Washington National Forrest directly across the road, offering hiking, wildlife viewing, and hunting. The home is only 4 miles (about 10 minute drive) from Crabtree Falls, one of the most popular hikes in Virginia.

The area is also known for the Nelson 151 brewery and wine trail, with several breweries , wineries, and restaurants just minutes away. Wintergreen Resort is only 12 miles away, offering skiing, mountain biking, golf, and scenic Blue Ridge views.

Guests love the combination of privacy, mountain scenery, and outdoor adventure, all while staying in a cozy creekside cabin.

For security, cameras are located at the front entrance and near the pond area outside the home.

We really enjoyed this home. It’s in a great location with several hikes nearby. Close to the Appalachian Trail. Monticello & Shenandoah are an hour away. It’s a very peaceful property. It’s very well stocked. Kuerig with k-cups, some seasonings, salt, pepper, etc. Little things you often don’t find in VRBOs anymore! The host was great with communication and checked in a few times to make sure all was well. We would definitely stay here again!

Quiet, comfortable, clean, beautiful, well-stocked, and best of all- a huge fenced-in yard that my dogs absolutely loved. My dogs aren't outside listeners so it's possible to actually relax when there is a secure fenced area. This place is definitely on the list for future getaways!

Great weekend getaway!

A great house in a great location! Really big fenced in yard that the dogs loved. This house was more equipped/stocked than any other VRBO we have ever been to- you can tell the owners really care about visitors. Birthday Weekend Getaway

Rented out this little cottage for my daughter's 15th birthday celebration and it was the best rental we have ever stayed at. The details in the home were perfectly set, from the medicine cabinet to the fully stocked kitchen. There was absolutely nothing I could have brought with us that wasn't available already. Waking up to the sound of the creek, looking at the mountainside from the porch was next to perfection. This cottage exceeded all of my expectations when looking for a retreat from society. I recommend this property to anyone seeking to connect with nature and enjoy a peaceful weekend! Also, the yard was AMAZING!

Wonderful Mountain Getaway!

We absolutely LOVED everything about this property. The owners thought of EVERYTHING to accommodate you on your trip in the mountains that you may forget to bring! A Hidden Gem in Tyro, VA!

We absolutely loved our stay at this charming cottage in Tyro, VA! The property is a true retreat, with a tranquil stream running through the yard and a spacious, fenced-in area that was perfect for enjoying the outdoors in privacy. The cottage itself was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The highlight was definitely the serene surroundings. Waking up to the sound of the stream and spending evenings in the large yard made us feel completely disconnected from the hustle and bustle—exactly what we were looking for. One thing to note: cell service in the area is very limited, so make sure to download the address and key box code in advance. While this could be a drawback for some, we saw it as a blessing—it encouraged us to truly unplug and immerse ourselves in nature. Overall, this cottage is a hidden gem, and we can’t wait to return. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful escape or a cozy base to explore the beauty of Tyro, this place is perfect! Highly recommend!

Wonderful Mountain Getaway

We had a wonderful stay here. The host was great to us in making our stay go smooth with out any problems. The area was beautiful and the nice large fenced in yard was great for our dogs to explore. The whole property was VERY well maintained inside and out, comfortable accommodations and supplied with everything we needed to feel home away from home. This was a beautiful and quiet setting perfectly located for our interests which were hiking the Appalachian Trail, exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway, and enjoying a day trip to Thomas Jefferson’s home at Monticello. The house and amenities were exactly as described and very clean. I didn’t realize that it had a fenced in yard and that was an added bonus for my pup. She had a wonderful time and she found the crate of toys to be a nice surprise! The sound of the creek was so relaxing and peaceful and could be heard from all around the house. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay we truly enjoyed ourselves and we thank you for allowing us to stay in your home!
