Oh goodness ...That's a lot to come apart at once! Our cleaner notified us of the towel bar and toilet paper holder following your stay and Wayne fixed them today, actually! A review like this makes us sad. We want every guest to enjoy their stay, but we can't read minds! That's why we have open office hours every evening and our personal cell phone numbers posted everywhere. Most of this guest's disappointment could have been resolved with a quick visit to our office. We had just experienced several weeks of rain so we had moved our kindling/paper/lighters into the office to keep them dry. Our staff will even come out and light the fire for you if you want! We also have ice available by request which is stated in the welcome letter and posted in the room - because nobody likes warm wine! We aren't sure why the room was dark since it has multiple lamps and lights. Lastly, we provide the very best WiFi available and have multiple routers with commercial-grade speed. But we ARE still in the wilderness and occasionally, there will be a slowdown with the thousands of tourists/summer residents in the area. We had also just had torrential rains the day before so it's possible there were some damaged lines that were affecting service. All of which is out of our control. :( We're sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay. We work hard to provide a clean, comfortable and affordable lodging option and we are happy to read that we succeeded in those regards!

We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay! Our staff is small but dedicated to making our rooms clean and comfortable. The smell you mentioned is sometimes noticeable on warm or rainy days as the paneling in the rooms gives off a woodsy smell. We hope to see you again soon!

Awww ... this review made me chuckle! You're right that we aren't everyone's cup of tea. But we are happy that you found our place to be clean and warm and friendly. We won't charge extra for the little "friends!" ha Thank you for staying and we hope you enjoyed this beautiful area!Just a note - the week you stayed, there was a massive hatch in the area of tiny Asian beetles (they look like orange ladybugs). Many around the area woke up to find literally thousands of them. Thankfully, we only had a few dozen but you hit it right when they'd arrived. Whew!

We've chosen not to have TV's in the rooms because sound does travel between rooms and we are trying to preserve the peace for those who rise early for long hikes. We do have a TV viewing area in our dining room which is accessible 24/7. Thank you for understanding!

We are sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay - although "comfortable and well-run" are good compliments! :) We bought this little vintage inn ten years ago and have been steadily renovating ever since. In fact, we only have ONE older room left! The room you rented has a new bathroom with a lovely tiled shower/tub unit, beautiful furniture, AC, and I can assure you, no bedbugs! (We check regularly) We do, however, have lots of insects in the wilderness and they do sometimes find their way inside! As you stayed on a weekend, we had staff around throughout the days and the office was open every evening. I'm not sure why you didn't meet anyone, but most likely, you arrived before office hours, did a self check-in and then didn't return to the office. As we state in our confirmation email, we are a small family-run business so we don't have a 24/7 front desk, but our personal cell phone number is posted everywhere. We do have the very best high-speed WiFI available in our area with several boosters On August weekends, thousands of travelers come to the valley and with the heavier use on the overall system, it can glitch more. But usually, it works well for our guests' needs. A quick read of our other reviews and a glance at our room photos will show that we take great pride in our little piece of Adirondack heaven. We aren't the Marriott, but neither are our rates! We strive to be clean, comfortable, friendly, and reasonably priced. We clearly weren't a match for you, but we wish you well and hope you enjoyed your time in this lovely area.
