Retreat to a beautiful, newly updated cozy home

Cozy 1920s home updated and decorated to bring a modern, clean aesthetic. Close proximity to all the Utica/New Hartford area has to offer but located in a quaint residential neighborhood. Enjoy taking walks into the village of new Hartford and explore the amazing restaurants, shops, an entertainment. This family friendly home has a well equipped kitchen, games, coffee and tea selection and of course books everyone can enjoy.

Virtual workers? Enjoy the two distinct working locations with an additional monitor.

If you have fur babies, you are welcome to bring them as well.

The king size bed in the master room with the room darkening curtains are perfect after a long day of work or pleasure.

The second and third bedroom have Queen beds.

The host was slow to respond, if at all.There were numerous safety issues with the rental: - Attic and basement were not partitioned properly, allowing uncontrolled access from other unit.- Several smoke detectors were missing or inoperative. The low battery chirp could be heard in the other unit for the entire visit.- The hot water heater was set to a temperature that would have scalded unprotected skin.- The shutoff valve for the upstairs toilet leaked for the entire visit, despite notifying the owner early on in the rental period.- Several doors in the house we're not able to be shut because of warped floors or sagging hinges.- Basic amenities (toilet paper, paper towels) were not available on check in, now any provided when requested.- Broken cabinetry in the kitchen.- Half of the range doesn't work, the right two burners would not heat.Looking at previous reviews, it seems this is not the first stay where problems were present but not addressed.

Very old home......no central air..... only had window units in 2 of the 3 bedrooms. The 2 bedrooms cooled down but they are upstairs. The rest of the house stayed @ 85 degrees, at least that's what the thermostat said. Other than that the stay was ok.

Wouldn’t Recommend

Our first impressions of a nice host and cleanly home dwindled the longer we stayed. Besides the ant problem downstairs, the description of the home isn’t accurate. We had 4 people stay and although we all had a bed (1 full/queen & 1 king), there isn’t room for any additional guests as the description says can sleep 6. Additionally, there were only 3 chairs at the dining table & not enough cutlery for 4 people. Host also violated privacy and policy by entering the property when we weren’t home (for no reason other than to complete a personal errand). We wouldn’t stay again or recommend this place.

Unfortunate stay

Needed to reach our to VRBO on day of stay to get information on key when host did not return prior message or call. Wasn't clear which side of duplex rental was. No toilet paper on arrival, tho host said a delivery would be coming. Constant beeping of smoke detector-host offered to bring a battery for me to change, then offered to sent a handyman over-did not want someone I didn't know with a key coming there. TV did not work. Unable to get out of front door even when unlocked. Enough said. Got a hotel instead and left.

Good Value - Great Location.

This is an older two-family house that is being renovated for use as a short term rental. The décor is very tasteful and everything worked well (kitchen, hot water, etc).
