The place itself is like a small villa and the location is fairly remote, be aware the drive up to get to this property isnât for the feint of heart⊠especially with a rental car. It definitely adds to the experience of being remote but take your time and itâs not too bad.

âGreat location and excellent facilities! We had booked a room through hotels.com but something had appearantly gone wrong 'cos when we got there we were told that there wasn't a reservation!! The staff handled it well though and we were put in a small room the first night and a better one the following day. âWe went a little off-season and not many were there. The place is located in the countryside with lovely surroundings.
The inital plan was to go into the little town of Cercal for dinner in elthe evening, but we changed our plans and stayed for dinner at Matinha instead. That was a good decision... the food was very nice and typical rustic traditional Portuguese food. Loved it.
