Be aware - the hot tub is not a hot tub
The hosts were good at communicating ahead of time. When I arrived I was met promptly and shown a room different from my booking (3rd floor, not first floor). They then tried to charge me an additional and previously unmentioned cleaning fee (which I did not pay). The hot tub in the basement was not hot. It was an unheated tub of water, and while there were jets, there was no way to make it warm. This was my most expensive accommodation in Malta, and I choose it for the hot tub, so to discover it was not useable was disapointing. Rooms are fine, clean and furnished with cheap Ikea furniture.

Not a good choice. Unexpected fees, lies from the staff and then finally not able to order me a taxi for the airport. If they can’t provide something, just saying yes is not adequate. What if I had lost my flight?

Dear Marius, please accept our apologies with regards to the issues you raised in your comments. It is, however, pertinent to point out that all our fees, including city tax and damage deposit, are clearly highlighted in the hotels.com portal. With regards to the booking of taxis, the problem was mainly due to our staff not provided with all the necessary information. Regards...Paul

Amazing roof view great location
Great location off the beaten path. Easy checking in and out. Staff was very nice accommodating and the room was very clean. My only concern was the bed sheets. The bed did not have fitted sheets so when we rolled over at night the sheets came undone and we were laying partly on the mattress. The location is very unique and quaint. The view from the roof is amazing. They are also located near a fantastic playground making it a kid’s dream!

Helt ok rom, nydelig beliggenhet
Fantastisk beliggenhet, midt i sentrum og i gangavstand til det meste. Veldig artig at den ligger i gata der en scene fra Game of Thrones er spilt inn. Rommet var helt ok, men ganske lukket og mørkt, og heisen streiker en del. Vi opplevde at verten var veldig hyggelig, men det ble mye forsinkelser og misforståelser når vi ba om hjelp til å bestille drosje. Anbefaler at man ordner dette i god tid i forveien, så man slipper å bruke ferietiden på det.

Beautiful & Game of Thrones filming location
Really nice apartment with a mini kitchen in a good location. Good shower, fan & AC. No keys just a pass number which I liked. There's a big jacuzzi & roof terrace that's free to use. If you're a game of thrones fan then definitely stay here - a scene in King's landing in series 1 was filmed right in the street!

Great location
Very good location, just a five minute walk to St. George’s Square. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Filtered water available although the tap water was perfectly fine to drink. We were told it tasted different to UK but we didn’t notice any difference at all.

Une bonne adresse à la Valette
Une bonne adresse pour séjourner à la Valette, idéalement située au cœur de la cité et un peu en retrait pour être au calme. Le logement est situé à seulement 15min à pied du terminal de bus, parfait pour pouvoir explorer les environs. L'immeuble dispose d'une terrasse sur le toit et d'un jacuzzi au sous-sol. La chambre possède un coin cuisine, le frigo est toutefois un peu bruyant pour la nuit et la chambre un peu sombre. Sinon rien à redire, le personnel s'est montré très accueillant et disponible.

Worst service ever
We stayed in Ajkla Mansion for seven nights and this ”hotel” was the worst we have ever been. The bed and pillows were really hard and uncomfortable. There was a little bit weird smell in our room and air was really moist before turning on air condition. Also toilet seat had "greetings" from previous customer, blanket was kids size and our precious wine bottle was stolen second day from fridge. Fortunately next day we got bigger blanket and wine bottle back with extra bottle. Still this doesn't change overall score because of all the other sufferings. The biggest problem was that our room’s water boiler wasn’t heating water so there was only cold water coming from our shower. We called to staff for three times and in the second time they promised to send somebody to help us. We waited at the hotel for nothing because nobody came. Third time we called later on the same day after noticing that power switch contolling heater was broken. Again they promised to send electrician next morning and again we got dissapointed because nobody came. Also advertised jacuzzi was located to small basement room (really ugly one) and had only cold water. The only good thing in this hotel was decently working wifi. We are dissapointed that we paid almost 500 euros from this kind of hotel. If you want to have even some kind of customer service, don’t book this hotel. Malta stolen our hearts but Ajkla Mansion didn’t.

Sijainti on hyvä. Allashuoneessa vilisi torakoita, raatoja kellui porealtaassa. Niitä ei siivottu pois pyynnöistä huolimatta, joten poreallasta ei voinut käyttää. Lisäksi yli viikko matkamme jälkeen hotelli oli veloittanut luottokortiltani 20€ ilman mitään yhteydenottoa. Sähköposteihin ei enää vastattu.

Per fortuna solo 2 notti.
Avevo prenotato per 3 e c'era solo un letto matrimoniale, alla fine è arrivata una brandina che abbiamo sistemato noi. Camera non di 27 mq ma max 18. TV che non era sintonizzata, lampadario con le pale piene di polvere, lavabo con tappo incastrato con l'acqua che non scendeva. Abbiamo telefonato per gli inconvenienti appena arrivati alle14 ( non c'era nessuno ad accoglierci nonostante avessimo avvisato), ma abbiamo trovato risolto solo il tappo del lavabo il giorno dopo. Non lo consiglio assolutamente.

La posizione è eccezionale, dietro alle vie principali, in una zona tranquilla. La camera è carina, nuova, ben arredata. Lo stabile restrutturato bene, l'ascensore comodo, l'ingresso con codice. Viene una donna delle pulizie tutti i giorni, non è il massimo ma comunque meglio di niente. Io lo consiglierei, accogliente e centrale.

Good location
This accommodation is in an ideal location in Valletta and offers good access to the sites of the city and eating places. However the communication with the management was very poor. I requested 2-beds and on arrival only one was made up. I requested email or text communication and got neither. No one came contacted me regarding billing issues. I have been charged for an amount I have no receipt for. Communication to travelers is key. However they need to realize not all travelers are European and have cell phone service while traveling and email is both efficient and provides record of such communication. Management needs to respond to requests and answer billing questions.

Dejligt ophold centralt beliggende
Super beliggende i den gamle del af Valetta. Vores værelse var rent og pænt men meget mørkt. Ideelt hvis man bare skal bruge det til at overnatte der. Tagterrasse med 2 liggestole. Bemærk at der er trapper ned til hotellet. Der er ingen reception, men jeg blev ringet op et par gange for at høre om alt var ok. Super service!

Exactly as advertised.
Hotel is part of a redeveloped apartment house, with kitchen (hob, MW, toaster, water boiler), TV, and Internet. There’s a very nice roof top garden and a jacuzzi in the basement which I didn’t try. Strong WiFi. Staff was extremely friendly.. Only snag is the steps (these are serious) down from the Main Street to the entrance. This was a real problem. I was able to get help. Don’t even think about it if you’re bad in the back or weak in the knees. Major construction going on at the Bakery Street and Ajkla street facades.

El Hotel no es para personas mayores hay que subir
aproximadamente 45 escalones, esta situado de tal forma que no tiene vista, la cama que era queen aparentemente no era mas que dos camas gemelas unidas a la mitas o sea que a mitad de la noche se separaban y no funcionaba como queen, el calentador de bano aparentemente es electrico oalgo asi porque desp de un rato ya no salia agua caliente, cuenta con estufa trastes y demas pero eso es bueno para cuando viajas con familia, el numero del hotel que tienen ahi, porque personal no existe , solo te esperan para darte tu numero clave para entrar al local y al cuarto el numero de telefono que tienen ahi no lo contestan......pero si la limpieza era buena, cuenta con elevador dentro

Excellent location in the old part of the city.
Very enjoyable stay in a clean well maintained apartment. We were met by a greeter as we expected and he was friendly and provided good information about the apartment and the local area including were we could buy food at a local shop.

They never answered the door and left us stranded
This ended up not being a hotel, rather it was some strange address in an alley way. We were stranded with no room on christmas night. There was nobody there to either answer the door or our telephone calls either the night we arrived or the morning after. We were scammed. Expedia will be notified about this. This was a horrible beginning to our stay in Malta.

Dear Guest, Appreciated your comments but regret to say that your recollection of events is totally incorrect. As you know, once you entered the taxi which we had booked for you, the driver called our greeter to notify him of your arrival. The greeter was inside the property waiting for you and at no point was there any knocking much less other calls. After approximately 20mins the greeter contacted the taxi driver to ask about your whereabouts and he was informed that you had demanded to be taken to another hotel instead of the property you booked. He told us that you did not want to get your luggage out of the car, as you refused to even go down the street to the property’s entrance. We would have loved to meet up with you and offer you a solution if for some reason you were not happy with the property - but alas, that would have required you arriving to see our beautiful property first. In this respect would recommend to not make any rushed decisions based on nothing else except perhaps a first very wrong impression of the street which is actually one of the quaintest alleys in Valletta. We extend once again our invitation to you to come and truly experience a stay with us as have done a big number of people who can verify the veracity of what we say and offer.

Nice apartment
Nice apartment in a central location. Only takes 5 minutes to get to the city centre and about a 15 minute walk to the bus station, where you can get a bus to anywhere on the island. Good value for money.
