We went to Nayara next and found monkeys were free there jumping from tree to tree. It also got very crowded during the day as they allow outside guests to the gardens. “Beautiful surroundings and cozy cabins. The staff was very friendly. We only stayed one night and did not have time to explore the area any closer, but if you are a nature lover this is definitely the spot to be. On the downside it should be mentioned that the road to the property is about 11 km of rather rough gravel. While a 4WD is not strictly necessary (the hotel said that any car would do) I would not not recommend going there in a smaller sedan or similar, especially not in the rainy...

“This was a lovely place to spend our first couple of nights in Costa Rica after a long flight. The grounds were beautiful and the breakfasts were great, as was our evening meal. The accommodation felt vibrant and Costa Rican, which we loved, but could do with a little updating. However, it was still a comfortable and enjoyable place to stay. We really enjoyed the coffee tour and would highly recommend it.”
