The place was perfectly situated in the heart of Ventura, making it easy to walk to most nearby spots. It included a designated parking space and a washer and dryer, which was very convenient. We were also lucky to visit on a great weekend—there was not only the farmers market, but also a “Findings Market,” where local businesses filled downtown with food and merchandise.
There were, however, a few downsides. We had to contact the management company because the check-in message with instructions and the door passcode was never sent by (or before) the 4:00 PM check-in time. Additionally, the unit had an overwhelming number of Febreze air fresheners throughout, and the scent was extremely strong. We ended up keeping the windows open the entire weekend because of it. The hand soap and shower soap were also very drying, so we purchased our own shampoo and body wash from Target.
Another concern was the bed frame—the legs beneath the headboard were loose and felt unstable, which made us worry it could collapse. We also recommend bringing a steamer to thoroughly steam the bed and couch. It seemed the unit was not cleaned deeply after guests with pets, as we initially felt itchy; once we steamed the furniture, that issue resolved.
One additional note: the TV does not provide any free or guest-accessible streaming.
Overall, with better deep cleaning and attention to these minor maintenance and comfort issues, this place has the potential to be excellent.
