"Great hostel, owner is super nice, knowledgeable and helpful. Place is just a 10 minute walk to the main area of Gaia and Porto, so its quiet, but also convenient. I got a private room in this hostel, but I'm sure a dorm room would've been fine. Free breakfast every morning and owner offers recommendations or engaging conversations about Portugal and Porto. They did my laundry for 10 euros too, which was great. "

"There's much to like about The Yellow House, with one major exception. The bed is quite comfortable, and while smallish, the quarters are comfortable as well. Wifi worked very well, and the patio is a huge plus, for relaxing in the sun (I smoke the occasional cigar, so it was very welcome. It's also very quiet except for the occasional- as in not very often- barking of the two dogs next door. They're pretty cool pooches, so it was not a problem. The site is two blocks from the Cockburn Port...

"Great place, slightly far from Porto district but the free shuttle provided by the hotel to & back compensates for that. Close to beach, loved the boardwalk to the beach. Both indoor and outdoor pool options. Great breakfast spread, Electric car charging on the property. All in all a great place to stay!! "

"We arrived early and they let us check in early but had to pay an early check in fee which was expected. The people were welcoming and the room was clean. Only downside was that the room reeked of cigarettes. I don’t know if it was that room only but it didn’t smell great. Overall the rooms were small for twin sized beds but expected in Europe. It is comfortable enough for 2 people."
