“The Refuge Inn is a very special place to stay. It is the closest Inn to Assateague island. The staff welcome you and are so kind and pleasant. The Inn has an indoor pool and sauna. They also have an inexpensive bike rental on the other side of their parking lot. Family run it is beautifully decorated and maintained motel. They have a coral next to their parking lot with pony’s that were once wild living there. You can purchase feed and put it in troughs for them to much on while you take...

“The beds were average, especially the pillows, atmosphere was clean and friendly, safe place to stay, the toilets in the unused rooms can have ants in the toilets (really not that big of a deal), the water is HORRIBLE (tastes like iron or something), the free cookies are nice, the tv and having barely any channels is bad for a huge hotel, and overall a 7/10.”

“This place has a great location, but needs work. Rooms were clean, but definitely need work - rust in the bathrooms, stained ceilings, outside of the building in disrepair in places (lots of crumbling at the edges of balconies). Hallways and elevatoes are dark and dingy in places. No USB outlets in the rooms. Pools are a nice amenity, but could also use with some cleaning and updating. The beach here is amazing- wide, clean, not crowded.”
