The Montfort house

17th and 18th century house, at the foot of Montfort castle, 6 km from Sarlat,
in the heart of the Dordogne valley, in the Périgord Noir region, sleeps 7. Private heated swimming pool, depending on the season. Located in one of the village squares, close to shops and restaurants.
The Dordogne River is nearby for swimming and canoeing.
As the starting point for a number of walks, the house is ideally placed for visits to the various tourist attractions in the region.
The 150 m² house has a ground floor living room with tiled floor and exposed beams, a large stone fireplace, sofas, wardrobe and flat-screen TV; a separate dining room with wooden floor, table with 8 chairs, high sideboard and china cabinet, and a fireplace with wood-burning stove.
The lounge and dining room have direct access to the garden.
The separate kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher and washing machine, combined fridge-freezer, breakfast set, microwave, electric oven and induction hob. A central island with stools. Granite sink and plenty of work surfaces. The kitchen is also accessible from the outside terrace at the main entrance.
The first floor is accessed from the living room by a wooden staircase with handrail and is made up as follows:

Bedroom 1: wooden floor, two windows with through-lighting, a 160cm bed with bedside tables, an antique wardrobe, a stone fireplace, a shower room with shower and washbasin on a low cupboard.

Bedroom 3: wooden floor, double bed (140cm) and single bed (90cm) with bedside tables, fireplace, antique sideboard, chairs.
Bathroom: a bath with a shower area, two basins and low storage units, mirror, hairdryer and towel rail, a WC.

Parking for 2 cars in front of the house, on the village square and private parking 20 metres from the house.
750 m² garden area surrounding the house, facing south-south west, with views of the château.

The village of Montfort has a bakery 250 metres from the house and two restaurants 50 metres away. The river (Dordogne) is 1km away with beaches, restaurant, canoe kayak hire.
