âVi stannade en natt under vĂ„r resa pĂ„ vĂ€g söderut. Vi valde detta omrĂ„de för att vi ville göra Alpine crossing hiken. TyvĂ€rr var vĂ€dret för dĂ„ligt och vi kunde inte göra denna. Boendet var vĂ€ldigt trevligt med riktigt trevlig vĂ€rd som hjĂ€lpte oss med att kolla vĂ€derkameror, tips pĂ„ restaurang m.m. Skulle definitivt bo hĂ€r igen om Tongariro var pĂ„ kartan!â

âThe Mountain Heights Lodge was lovely. Fabulous hosts, very comfortable and spacious rooms. Convenient for the walking trails. Short drive to cafes (The Station for great coffee and just opened for dinner) and pubs. â
âWe enjoyed our overnight stay. The facilities were sufficient and the online check in worked for us. The wifi was a bit intermittent though unfortunately. â
âThe reservation couldn't be found. So check in took a long time. It took a while to find the place, firstly. By the time we finally got to our room, the door next to our room kept slamming in the wind. I had to prop it open with a table so it wouldn't keep us awake. The other stayers were noisey. Noone told me where the kitchen was, I had to ring reception. And they didn't know. By the time we found it, we were so tired. Ended up eating some chips and going to sleep. Made the reservation through...

"The location of the hotel is awesom but the hotel needs an update urgently. Wd had one of the more exensive rooms but the toilet was leaking, the fridge didn't work properly, we could hear the neighbours talking and snoring and the noise from the terrace lasted untill 10 pm.
But the views on the vulcanoes are spectacular and the staff is serviceminded and friendly."
