“More a self catering flat than an hotel however We were happy with it. It is in the suburbs of St Helens a distance from the town centre. St Helens Junction train station is about 5 mins walk, and a good little cafe for breakfast less than 2 mins walk. The area was quiet at night and there are a couple of local shops equally close for such things as milk for drinks.We used it as a base to explore the area hence we only used the kettle and the wifi. Would be happy to use again.”

“Husband and I have just stayed here for a week with our big puppy and can honestly say the place is so beautiful, Jo and her husband have done a fantastic job with the pod and making it so homely inside. "Patched over leakage, strong smell of something unidentifiable in the room. Pills laying in the coreners of the stairs, overall a hotel which could have been a wonderful magnificent experience. Around 100 years ago. Since then it felt like nothing special had been attended to. The smell, and overall impression of the hotel left much wanting. Sorry to say, for the price we payed and the "three star" rating. This wasn't really what we were expecting. I know the UK standards when it comes to the star rating is really not meeting the expectation of the rest of the world but this was definitely something i underestimated and a new low mark for me. If i were to have traveled with my wife she would have never entered the room due to just the scent. So yeah, the city itself was delightful. The Hotel, left a lot wanting from the price we payed. Especially the weekend rate. That was unbelievable compared to the following mon/tuesday rate. If the entire stay was in the mon/tuesday rate i would have a lot easier to accept the standard of the hotel. Cause then it would have been cheap."
