Located in a perfect location near the lake, local shops, and great restaurants in the village, this historic, 19th-century home - a true original in Walloon village - is ideal for a romantic getaway for two or a solo adventure. Inside, you'll find white shiplap walls and ceilings, sunlit spaces, and all the amenities you'll need for a relaxing time away. Prepare your favorite recipes in the compact, but well-equipped kitchen, dine at the table for two, and then settle into the front living area and stream your favorite TV channels. Out front, relax on the porch swing and watch the world go by, or head out back to dine on the deck.

This was our second time staying here in the Fall. It is so cozy! We love the location! We were able to enjoy some hiking and the beautiful Fall colors in the area. The cottage is clean and exactly how it is described.

Cute historical home. Very clean but microwave was dirty. The door code did NOT work nor did the code for key in lock box. Had to contact management for new codes.Key lock box by back door is hanging on outdoor light. If you are short (5'2) you cannot see. I had to climb on chair!Washing machine only hot water. Selected cold water and rinse too was HOT.

Cozy and comfortable!

Very quaint and interesting home! Just like the photos and very close to everything in town! The only hiccup was getting the correct code for the lockbox which took about 30 minutes after our arrival but it was also available to us for an early check-in so couldn't complain too much! You are definitely speaking with a Vacasa agent and not a direct homeowner or host. Overall a great stay!

Perfect little house for a weekend getaway for a couple! Very cute and clean, close to shops and restaurants. Easy driving distance Boyne mountain, Boyne city, Charlevoix, and Petoskey!

Cozy nook

Super cute property. This is a no frills getaway which is reflective of the price. It has everything you need in terms of amenities and the location is fantastic for what we needed. There was quite a bit of snow which made the front door inaccessible and there wasn’t a snow shovel so we just used the back door. Wouldn’t be a bad idea to supply a shovel and salt for the back door as it was pretty snowy and icy. Overall thank you for a nice stay

Delightful

Walloon Lake and this property in particular are delightful. Our stay at the end of the summer was quiet and so lovely. The communication provided by the property manager Vacasa was clear and constant. There was such an attention to detail: there was even sugar in the canister next to the coffee maker. The living space on the first floor (living room, kitchen and outdoor patio) was perfect. The bedroom and bathroom on the lower level were cozy and super clean. This property is a few steps away from "town". We didn't stay long enough to use the fire pit but it was all set up for us and beckoned invitingly. I used some tomatoes from the garden. We enjoyed the stillness, wandered into town for lovely dinners (and ice cream!), took an electric boat charter around the lake. It was a wonderful stay.

Nice, but…

Overall, a nice stay and a cute place but for the following: 1) even with a whole house H-Vac system, a wall AC unit, and ceiling fans running at full speed, it took three days for the house to cool from 85 to 71 degrees; 2) an infestation of midges and fruitflies in the lower level bathroom; 3) a very sensitive and fragile septic system, wherein the toilet waste has to pump uphill into the tank; 4) zero actual help from either Vacasa or the property owner on the cooling issue; and 5) a very stubborn key pad lock whse buttons would not operate if not held down in a certain way (on one occasion it took 20 minutes of trying to get the door unlocked. As a result, if these items would be a problem for you, do not rent. I was gone most of five days at a conference, and am not requesting a refund of any kind. But in combination, these issues may be problematic for others.

Property Needs to be Freshened Up

We had difficulty getting into the house. Found a way through the back door. The house needed a freshening up. It appeared to not have been occupied in quite some time. We found a bug in the sugar.

very clean, good towels, great location

Loved it. Only negatives were wifi never worked, despite all efforts and request for help: TV worked for one movie and one news program. Then never worked again. Just a small note--could have used a better showerhead.
