Needs a good deep cleaning .
Overall we had a good time, but we didn’t spend much time in the cabins , we enjoyed the river and sitting out around the fire pit! However I would recommend a deep cleaning to be done in the bigger cabin, the bathroom was pretty bad, dirty dirty bathtub, it literally had dirt in it , it smelled like pee, and mold . The windows need cleaning , very dusty all over, Spider webs inside the cabin , I mean if it gets clean on a regular basis we shouldn’t have to see that, also the floors were not swept, and the rugs were wet, I couldn’t let my kids walked around in socks As far as communication : I didn’t get access information ahead of time , I sent messages thru the app and no response until after I got there , I was very stress about the fact that I drove about 3hrs there without knowing how will I access the property, when I got there the doors were unlock and the keys were there which was fine , however I think it’s important to get the info ahead of time .

We do send all that info ahead of time on the thread. Very sorry if it didn t get to you. I will send this review directly to housekeeping. I can t imagine what went wrong. 3 cleaners were in this rental and it was reported back as cleaned and finished. We do deep cleaning in spring and fall and regular cleaning every turnover all summer. I wish I d been contacted immediately as I would have been there and it would have been done over again in the tub. Truly sorry. Happy to hear you enjoyed the river and outdoor fire.

Rustic private setting
Glenda is a great host and provides nice extra touches such as amenities baskets with toothpaste, Tylenol, etc that are often forgotten when packing. She provided pool floats which we used in the river and the outside lighting has been upgraded which was perfect at night.

Memorial Day weekend
Check in was very easy. Glenda provided a basket in the bathroom with essentials which was helpful. The cabins are right on the river which was nice and secluded. Around the bend the water is pretty fast so if you have young children or dogs life vests are definitely recommended. My dogs loved playing in the river once we got across to the shallow slower water! There is also a nice fence in area for children and or dogs which I thought was very helpful! Glenda was also very cooperative when adding an extra night to our stay.

Take a Deep Dive into Country Life
We are an outdoorsy family....soooooo keep that in mind.... This multi rental cabin getaway was fantastic for us! -None the less , there are mouse droppings in the main kitchen cabinets...saw no mice while we were there... the smaller cabin (200 ft away) had No droppings whatsoever! This cabin has NO indoor fireplace but the boys dug out the outdoor pit from under the snow and it was ON! Outdoor lighting is present but bring your own extension cord there is none there...A lot of outdated country furniture in cabins main rooms mixed with more modern bedrooms-(new bedding and decor) gives this place a good (mixed)vibe- bathrooms and plumbing are not in great working order- one shower doesn't work but the other does- one sink didn't work but the other did ...oh well deal with it because there are GREAT GREAT GREAT views... New Year's Day Polar bear challenge was a hit! Take your family out to the country for Pete's sake and get away from it all! We skied Gore Mountain ( about 40 mins away) as "Lake George was just about shut down! " STILL Open for business was local restaurant ***BARNSIDERS BBQ *** Awesome food drink & PRICES.

Few surprises
The place is not suitable for 14 people. The shower in the small cabine did not work, there was mouse poop in the cabinets. The spot is very nice with the river just in front, but definitely not worth more than the price.

We poison,trap and electronically send signals to eradicate mice. This has been an exceptional weather related year for mice everywhere in the Adirondacks. The maids watch closely for this however, if the cabins were cleaned a few days prior to arrival anything can occur. If we re called during the stay we ll return and re clean. . Many properties owners have dealt with this this year. Not just vacation rental owners. The maids cleaned the shower and it worked fine. Are you sure you turned it correctly? Again, had I been called maintenance would have tended to it. We ve had guests at 2 other properties that didn t know how to turn the shower on without a visit. It happens. We will check on it. These guests had an off season rate. The summer rate is much more and many happy guests. There is 14 sleeping places.. 8 in the larger cabin and 6 in the smaller one. I hope overall you enjoyed your stay.

Rustic with a watery Playground
Lake George is one of our favorite places and this camp gave us all the access to schroon River and enjoying the better parts of lake George. Little bit on The rustic side for some of us but it was all that we hope it would be.

Exactly what we were looking for!
Owner Glenda was quick to get back to me when I had questions. Property was as described- rustic and nothing fancy but perfect for our family of 15 when our usual campground was sold and we wanted a place where we could accommodate our large group and keep the camping vibe. We had plenty of space to pitch 2 tents in the yard but also had the luxury of real beds, a kitchen, hot showers, internet/tv, and washer/dryer. Basket of amenities and games was a nice touch. Towels and linens meant we had to pack less. Kids (age 5-10) enjoyed tubing in the river - just made sure adults were in the water with them to help with the current. Kids enjoyed the little play area and trikes. Truck noise from highway across the river detracted some from the idyllic setting and outdoor lighting was not set up or functional but between the campfire and our own camping lights we had plenty of light outside. All in all a great family trip. Can’t wait to come back next year!

good stay
It was good. It’s a good 15 minutes for Lake George. The water was a nice bonus it was like a little private beach. Everything was very private no one would complain if music was too loud or not. It was a good stay.

Not what we expected
Property manager was very responsive to our questions and concerns. Check in was simple and easy, location was great. However the river is very fast flowing in this bend of the Schroon River, so families with small children should take that into account. Our group had several small children and a couple infants and we could not allow them near the water unless they were held by an adult, there is no shore line for the kids to play near the water (its all steep down hill) unless you cross the river which is ultimately what we ended up doing, but made us nervous with the little ones. The cabins were lack luster and in need of repair specifically the bathrooms, the bathroom in the bigger cabin was kind of gross. Mildew in the shower, and the shower head was basically dangling out of the wall, and there's water damage under the toilet, it felt like the toilet was going to fall through the floor. The bathroom in the smaller cabin seems like it was built for children, the adults had trouble fitting in there, and were not a large bunch. The beds in the rooms are not comfortable and were difficult to sleep on. There were stains on the carpets, and the furniture was outdated. We're not normally a picky bunch (we usually do our family trips in tents at campgrounds) so a lot of these cosmetic issues could have been overlooked had the place not been soo expensive. I feel the owners could really benefit if they used some of the extra money they're making to invest into the property and fix some of these things. We love this area of the Adirondacks and will definitely return, but not to this property unfortunately.

Family vacation
The property is private and serene on the water. The owner has done some improvements on the trailer which makes it look rustic. Bathroom was a little less desirable. Definitely needed an update. Small cabin was okay but the loft is definitely for younger people Not much room up there but otherwise cute. I thought the price was a little high but we as a family were looking for the camping vibe and we definitely had that. Be prepared for the bugs and a lot of sand if you have kids. The location was private and we did see a lot of nature but were close to stores. Internet stopped working after the first day and we could not get it to work after that. The owner did have lots of new items in the cabins like towels, baskets of things we might have forgot, a nice gesture. The place definitely has great potential and they seem to be putting a lot of work into it. We had fun and my grandchildren loved it so I guess that is what matters more.

Perfect for all ages
We skipped our first night due to rain.but arrived to a beautiful sunny day..a little swimming fishing and great family time. This is a bit rustic but very clean and the basket of extra toiletries was greatly appreciated. Having 2 separate houses allowed for infant and toddler naps. We did have a huge storm move in so put plan b into effect we went to the Painted Pony bbq and Rodeo a great time was had by all. We are a family of 7 months- 53 and everyone had a great time. If we had thought it through we would have tried to add an extra day. However only being an hour 1/2 from home this will be on our list for another get away. The only thing I would suggest is to get some kind of ozone machine. The main house smells musty and stale but we purchased some airfresheners. I would also suggest bringing your own pillow. A big plus was the shower was amazing strong pressure and plenty of hot water. We would definitely recommend this for everyone.

Our team is so happy you had an enjoyable stay. The waterfront is the greatest plus of this property. As for any smell, it has been attributed to the campfire smoke. If any doors or windows are open or if the fire smoke goes through the air conditioners it can create that. It is offered as "camping" so it's hard to balance that. Not sure about the pillows as we provide them as part of the bedding. Again, thanks so much and I hope you will consider a revisit soon. It's beautiful here in the Adirondacks in the fall. Glenda

Great relaxing environment
We are a supportive living program and our individuals wanted to take a camping trip and I came across this property that would accommodate everyone. We had 14 people all together and our individuals said they had a wonderful time. It was perfect for us and we hope to plan another vacation here with them again. We also checked out their other property next door and that was a beautiful house as well and we might try to stay there next time. Everything you need is in these cabins! Thanks again for everything we had a great time!

Horrible experience with this house
The definition of a vacation house should be comfortable, clean, safe and functional. But this house provided none of them to me and my family. There were maybe millions of mosquitoes outside of the house, but the house doesn't have window shields which we can't open the windows to get fresh air in ( inside the house smells really bad with all the carpets, old wood wall, cabinet and furnitures) We tried to turn on the AC units in two bedrooms and one on the hallway (super tiny house). The circuit breaker jump 5 times within 2 hours. The breaker is located outside the house( feels like in the middle of nowhere) The owner listed the house can sleep 14 people. Two bedrooms in the main cabin and one bedroom in the small cabin. Top of the bunkbed is very close to the ceiling (18") which you can smell the ceiling tile, face to face to mosquitoes and spiders. The queens size bed in the "master bedroom" which later found BEDBUGS. (one of my family member got bitten) The portable AC for the small Cabin is full of dust and dry leaves. Not enough hot water for two people to take shower in a road( the owner claims she cleans the house for the last 3 days) The owner didn't provide wifi password once we get there. ( we figured out ourselves) Called the owner to report our situation the next early morning, she didn't call back until 5pm in the evening (how nice) Me and my family need to leave the next day morning even I rented two nights. We just can't stay any longer. We all suffering. Thank you to this " vacation house" owner for ruining our short vacation get away. I hope this will help other people out.

Not quite as advertised!
Think of it as camping with access to a bed and bathroom( with a door that does not shut and a toilet that only flushed 2/3 times before you had to open the tank and reset the lever) You have to have a fire on all the time outside to smoke away the mosquitoes. I realize that they are part of nature, but a heads up from the owner would have been helpful. They swarmed you each time you got out of a car or came out of the house. Refrigerator and kitchen counters were clean but the items in the cabinets were 50/50 as to being clean. Mouse droppings on stove etc. the view is pretty but note there is s highway right across the river so don't expect solitude. Glenda was nice when you could reach her... we didn't know the wifi password the night/day so only had one phone that worked( no ATT) service at the location. She does not respond to email or to the phone number posted on the VRBO site....we couldn't access her cell phone without wifi....! We only had 4 people and used the large cabin (trailer home) pictured. No way could it sleep 8... if you had opened the sofa bed the guests in the right side bedroom with the double bunk would have had to climb over the sofa bed to get to the bathroom or kitchen. Note that mattress in the lower bunk was so used my son in law said he was about 6" lower than my daughter on the other side of the mattress. This place needs some TLC throughout. With that and a less wet season for mosquitoes it could be a really nice place.

A nice quiet cabin a short drive from Lake George
We stayed here during July 4 weekend. It was a good, quiet spot away from the crowds around Lake George. Unfortunately, it was a warm few days after a cooler week, so the mosquitoes were pretty vicious. Also, there was a huge amount of rainfall the day we arrived, so the river was 10x it's usual volume, which meant no wading and bad fishing. The fire pit was a savior when it came to the bugs. We had a family of 3 in the smaller cabin and two couples in the larger plus a toddler, an infant, and two dogs. The property was at capacity with our group, so I feel like the claimed capacity of 14 is inflated. Finally, the cabins need a bit of maintenance. The stove/oven in the larger cabin needs repair, but mostly still works. The one in the smaller cabin was not even plugged in, and didn't have an outlet installed, just unterminated electrical wiring. The wifi did not function when we arrived, but was fixed by our final day at the cabins. This was pretty inconvenient since cell service is spotty and we hoped to do our day to day planning after we arrived. I wish there were more detailed instructions for arrival and what is expected as far as cleanup. We did very basic cleaning and no laundry, and got our full deposit returned. The cabins are well furnished with cookware and linens, including beach towels. It is a good place to bring dogs. Overall, we did enjoy our stay. The location is great, and the price is right. We will definitely consider renting again!

Thank you for you're balanced and honest review. The cook stove was replaced and the wiring completed on the other one. I have spoke to maintenance about my concerns of both. It should have been dealt with sooner. My apologies. You're also so right about the excessive rain and misquitos. We have a fog machine and do use it, however, overuse isn't good either. So happy that you enjoyed your stay and please do revisit. The Adirondacks are beautiful in the fall. Glenda

Great scenery!!
We truly enjoyed the river right in front of the cabins, the firepit and the bbq were perfect too. The cabins are smaller than in the pictures, accommodations were somewhat uncomfortable but we made the best of it. Over all we really enjoyed this property will definitely come back.

I like the location and the nature but there were some issues with property.
We booked the property for 8 adults and 6 children. When we got to the property we sleeping beds only for 12 people. Two of us had t sleep on the floor. It all Started with sending e-mail to Owner with check-in time. No replies what so ever from the owner. We need not know the exact address to the property since it is not mentioned in their web site and you don't get with conformation e-mail. We are to Dimond Point around noon at the day of checking in. I tried to reach Glenda (the home owner) by phone, text and e-mail but no replies back. I tried to contact homeaway.com since we booked the property via them. Representatives from homeaway.com or travelers care tried to contact Glenda many times but there were no responses from the homeowner. Finally around 5 pm the traveler care representative provided us with address and we finally got to the property around 6:00 pm. When we came to the house and there were no electricity in some parts of the cabin. The toilet in the main Cabin was leaking from it is tank. There was no wifi in the house as promised and therefore I was able to check my e-mail till I came back home today. I just my e-mail I saw e-mail from Glenda dated 8/19/2016 at 6:15 pm sending me the address for the property. It is possible that Glenda might have some problem at that day and couldn't reach out to us but she could have had someone else to call us back and inform us what was going on. I am from NYC and I am in customer care business. All I know is that I would never ever leave my customer in suspense. It is very unprofessional. The property is located in a wonderful place. The nature is great and we enjoyed our time there but the type of customer service we got threw me off. I am not a satisfied customer although it does not take much to make me happy.

This property definately sleeps 14. The first cabin has 1 bedroom with queen sleeps 2. 1 bedroom with full over full sleeps 4 and the livingroom has a fold out couch for a total of 8. The second cabin has a futon in the main room tha t sleeps 2. A loft that sleeps 2 and a set of bunkbeds that sleep 2 for a total of 6. 8 plus 6 equals 14- not 12. I suspect these guests didn t realize the couch folds out but it is listed as such on the website. As for the poor communication , we try very hard to stay in touch with out guests.

Great secluded spot for a weekend trip
This place is perfect for a bachelor weekend or a nice little golf weekend. We stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed ourselves. There is another house down a driveway from these cabins but there were no issues at all. The cabins have everything you could need for the weekend. The owners had both AC units going for us before we checked in so the cabins weren't to hot. Plenty of towels. Bring shoes for the stream. Bring fishing pole. Bring firewood. Grill is propane. Bring music. Plenty of linens. I would go back and do it again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful RIVER view
Overall the scenic view of the property was priceless.... Not the nicest cabins I've been in but the definelty came with everything that we needed. Only things that bothered me on the trip was that there weren't any BIG garbage bins outside so we had to keep it outside of the cabin. Also the host wasn't attentive to any of my texts prior/during/ and after the trip. There was suppose to be string lighting outside and it wasn't set up. Had to dig in their shed and set it up which was a mission. It was also stated that there was wifi and cable which was not true. Besides that they had plenty of fresh towles and covers. The space it's self was amazing, you could hike along the river and find a decent size pond to fish... The town mall is only ten minutes away and also have pamflets to see what's around of you wanted to sign up for anything.

As for the string lights, we were in the middle of upgrading them and ran out of time. The worker doing them put them in the shed for the weekend planning to complete them for the next stay.
