An older hotel that was spotless, hillside with great views, 1 minute off highway 74 (the main road for Waynesville all the way to Bryson City). Nice. Better than I had hoped.

We’ve stayed at the property several times in the past. We have family in the area. I will NEVER stay here again. We were treated very rudely by the desk staff regarding parking our sprinter van. They told us we couldn’t park in the lot and suggested we park 1/2 mile down a steep hill so as not to block other guests. In the meantime, there were several cargo containers blocking multiple parking spaces. We found a way to park, essentially taking two spaces, but the staff said we couldn’t do that. She also suggested we should have called ahead to see if they could accommodate large vehicles. The van is 24 feet long and fits in most spaces with minimal hangover. We tried to leave and get a refund, even involving Expedia customer support to no avail. A very BAD experience!!

We found a few hair strands on the soap stand in the shower. A pillow had a strain on it, but not sure whether ITV’s and old strain or the maid forget to change it ??

When i booked the property on Expedia, it also populated my calendar on my iPhone. When it was time to check in, I went to the calendar and clicked the property where it took me to maps to navigate my way to the hotel. The maps link took me 20 miles in another direction with an incorrect address. I called the hotel and they were very helpful to get me to the correct location. That needs to be fixed in your setup.

Older hotel, but we have stayed here many times through the years. The beds were good and the shower was superb...Lots of water pressure and great towels. Staff is nice.

We went in the off season, so it was quiet. But is high on a hill, I think it would be quiet all year round. They state breakfast. It is a continental breakfast. If you like toasted bread w/butter, jelly, cream cheese etc. And plastic muffins and donuts. Coffee machine was good. The room was clean and comfortable. Enjoy your stay.

I've never been treated so rudely by the front desk staff. They could have cared less that we were even there. I was trying to be thoughtful and brought up the room garbage when checking out because of the steep incline and steps. The front desk clerk told me to put it in the outside can. I've never been treated so rudely by staff. The clerk refused to print our receipt. They said, 'Check your email. I'm not printing it.' They must think people are idiots. The coffee wasn't filled. The breakfast room was sectioned off. I asked if they were brewing coffee and they called a person from the back. The person came out and pointed to another location where they placed a coffee pot. Not a word-no courtesy-nothing....

The road to the hotel is in poor condition, rooms are outdated and the walls are paper thin. The breakfast was very disappointing as well. If you want a cheap place to rest this is your place just brings ear plugs and plan to go out for breakfast.

Not super fancy, but really nice.
This is the third time we've stayed at the Best Western Smoky Mountain Inn in Waynesville while visiting family. The hotel rooms are very clean, large and updated modern. The beds are a little soft, but comfy enough. The front office staff are very personable and helpful. The lobby isn't very big, nor is there a lot of seating for the dining area, but they do offer a continental breakfast with the room stay. The location is okay; it's convenient to a Walmart if needed. Otherwise, there's a little drive into town and other restaurants and shops. It sits atop a hill (or small mountain), and the scenery is pretty. It's not difficult to locate or get to. It tends to be fairly quiet even though it's close to the interstate - especially if you get a room in back and quiet neighbors. I would still bring a white noise maker if you're sensitive to highway, vehicle or neighbor noise. All in all, it's not a super fancy hotel with a zillion amenities, but it's a very nice, clean hotel.

The Best Western in Waynesville is in desperate need of a remodel. The mattresses had two permanent indentations (giving the impression that two people slept in it minutes before). The carpet is dingy and the walls could use a fresh coat of paint. My daughter said the Inn (more like a motel) seemed like something you would see in a horror movie.
