Just Perfect!
I chose The Swan based on the location, on arrival, our initial impressions of the exterior were a little negative, the exterior felt a little disappointing and looked dated... However, once inside, the room (room 2) exceeded our expectations.... He decor was just perfect, there was even music playing in our room which really added to the mood of the room. The bed was huge and was directly opposite a large arched window... But it's the bathroom that stunned us. The space inside the bathroom was huge, with a beautiful roll-top freestanding bath next to a shuttered window. The shower cubicle was exceptionally big with a lovely waterfall shower - the products were beautiful and clearly great quality. The finishing touches from the products, to the coffee/tea and hotwater machine were just perfect. The atmosphere inside the room wreally made the stay amazing. If you go, ask for room 2, you will not be disappointed!!

We stayed in the loft room. Beautifully and tastefully decorated. Quiet and well appointed. We had our excellent cooked Breakfast outside in amongst the jasmine and garden

We love staying at the swan, the staff are always great and very welcoming. The rooms are lovely, and it is nice and relaxed. It is our favourite dog friendly hotel, with great walks nearby and fantastic food for ourselves to enjoy. Thank you again!

Have just come back from a 2 night stay mid-week. I have to say I don't normally leave reviews but this hotel warranted it. We had a lovely time. Hotel was clean, tidy, open plan but retained character. All of the staff we met were sincere, friendly and helpful. Our room (medium) was plenty large enough with a lovely large bathroom. We especially liked attention to details such as the quality bathroom products made available. We ate at the restaurant both nights. Both meals were delicious and a fair price for the quality of the food on offer. There's other choices in the village but this appeared to trump them all. The breakfasts (included) were equally delicious, big portions, very well presented and enjoyed in front of a log burner. We visited the area for Cheddar Gorge/ Glastonbury and surrounding area. The village is in a great location provided you're driving/ cycling which we did. Whilst we might not visit the area again as we've now seen it, we understand this hotel is in a small chain, and we would look to use their hotels again in a different area.

Lovely stay
We had a wonderful stay at The Swan, room was lovely and the staff were all very friendly. Atmosphere and environment of the hotel was great. The shampoo, conditioners etc in the room smell amazing, they are a definite positive that go lovely with the room. Only negative we have is not being able to change items with dinner at the restaurant…… we wanted to change potato’s for chips but they wouldn’t allow us to, we would of had to pay an extra £4 to have chips! We also couldn’t chose how to have our steak cooked, we were told it had to be how the chefs cooked it?? Very unusual.

Not a pleasant stay
Room only had views of roof of building from all windows and noise from the kitchen extraction was bad, starting at 7am each morning and not going off until at least 11pm. Smell from kitchen wasn’t pleasant either. Breakfast service was slow, was cold and over cooked, considering they were not busy. Room however was a very good size and lovely on suite with roll top bath.

Highly recommend The Swan at Wedmore, the staff are very helpful & friendly, the hotel was very clean. Wedmore is ideal for visiting Cheddar Gorge, Bath and Glastonbury Tor and Stonehenge.

We had a really good time just two comments the bath in room5 looked very nice but practically did not work for us.we found the menu not to our taste but this is just us .we would have eaten there every night with a more varied menu..we would say That is was good value for money

Nice Hotel in lovely area.
The hotel was lovely to look at, festooned with flowers, a little way out of Tintern village. The woman who checked us in seemed a bit put out by our arrival, as if we had disturbed her. I assumed it was Sue and the partner was Barry, but neither introduced themselves in the week we stayed and often, when on reception Barry didn't bother to greet us on our way by. We were staying the entire week, had heaps of luggage as we were going on elsewhere for a week and asked if we could have a room which was raved about in the reviews but they had a couple who stayed in that room every year staying at the time. Fair enough. They also had a little suite, often mentioned by reviewers they they had been upgraded to. Sue said no, as it was a family room and they may get people turning up who required it. So all week most of the people stayed just the one night and on others the hotel had empty rooms. Not a good way to treat a couple who were about to spend over £700 with them plus a meal on the first night and drinks in the evenings throughout the week. On a positive note, the room was lovely and clean, it had a lovely bathroom and the food we ate was great. The friendliness mentioned in the reviews somehow was not directed towards us. We loved the area but would not stay at that hotel again.

The pub and rooms were stylishly done with a cosy feel. The staff were amazing and so friendly. Laurie was especially helpful, chatty and had a great upbeat attitude. The room we stayed in it’s self was lovely and the bath was amazing to soak in after a long drive.

Fantastic stay at The Swan
Our stay was fantastic, the team at the swan looked after us so well. We were traveling with our young pup, and were upgraded rooms on arrival. As I was to be away in the afternoon they made sure we could have an early check in for my partner and the pup to have the space for that time. The room was lovely and just what we needed, clean and very comfortable. In the evening we were booked into having dinner and sat in the bar area. The food was, as expected, delicious and they took great care of our pup also. Again in the morning breakfast at the swan is the best we have had, and made our stay perfect. Definitely going to stay at the Swan again, it is so welcoming both to ourselves and to our pup. We look forward to seeing you in th new year!

What a find! Made to feel so welcome. Food, room and service all good. Parking a little limited and maybe better lighting over mirror in bathroom but otherwise fantastic value for money. I love the fact they give you fresh coffee and bottled water in room. Maybe a bit tight on toiletries....will use again though.

AMAZING PLACE !!!
Booked for a night away and found this fantastic place! the room was Comfortable and clean and had some lovely little touches, I had booked a table for an evening meal expecting good pub food, this was not good pub food!! it was the best food I have EVER!! Fantastic food at a reasonable price. THIS PLACE IS A MUST FOR EVERYONE!!

Great stay.
Excellent accommodation, great location to explore Somerset. We stayed in a large room with a roll top bath. The room was very clean and all areas adhered to Covid regulations, felt very safe. Great breakfast and fantastic food in the bar and restaurant in the evenings. Would recommend and we will return, especially when en route to Cornwall to break a long journey.

Altough im farelly local decided to have a staycation in area always thought swan was a littal on pricey side but well worth it staff coudnt do anoth for me room modern fresh loved the deep bath altough if staying longer woukd have prefered a shower took advantage off eat out offer to have a meal chose the charcoled burger and then chesse cake slightey small portion but both were to die for would stay again when im looking for luxery

Second time we have visited The Swan and absolutely loved it again! We also got another free room upgrade on arrival which was so unexpected and lovely, the food was amazing also and so close to other things for us to do over the weekend

The Swan is in a pretty village within a short distance from the beach and Cheddar gorge. The hotel had a contemporary style decor, friendly staff and a good restaurant serving local produce. We ate outside in the rear garden in a large marquee although they were busy the food and service was excellent. The room was spacious, but cosy with a large comfortable bed. A minor comment was It could have done with a wardrobe there was plenty of room for one. The en-suite bathroom was also spacious, clean and with a deep roll top bath. I would highly recommend a stay here.

The staff at The Swan are friendly, welcoming and professional. Nothing is too much trouble. The room was spacious and very comfortable with a fabulous bathroom and shower. The menu is interesting and the food always delicious. Highly recommended
