Most of the city’s top spots—Cuba Street, Courtenay Place, the waterfront, and Te Papa Museum—are within 5–15 minutes on foot. It’s a compact city, and locals love the convenience of not needing a car.
If you’re venturing further, the bus network is reliable and frequent, with stops just around the corner. You can use a Snapper card or pay by contactless card for quick boarding. Rideshare services like Uber and Ola are also readily available, and there are e-scooters dotted throughout the area for short trips.
Driving? There’s on-street and public parking nearby, but like most locals, we recommend exploring the CBD on foot—it’s faster, scenic, and stress-free.
