Tucked down a private driveway in the popular city-fringe suburb of Hataitai, The Sanctuary is a sun-drenched, family-friendly oasis. This renovated two-level villa features a spacious kitchen, open-plan living, and French doors from nearly every room, offering effortless indoor-outdoor flow. The dedicated children’s playroom is the cherry on top—perfect for families seeking both comfort and space. Please note: Firewood is not provided during the warmer months (November to April). Step into The Sanctuary on the upper level, where you'll be welcomed by a stunning entertainer’s kitchen featuring a double oven, induction cooktop, bar seating, and ample prep space. The open-plan dining and living areas extend to a large sunny balcony, perfect for relaxing or entertaining. This level also includes a bathroom and a flexible office or children's playroom, with a single sofa bed. Downstairs, you'll find the sleeping quarters: - a spacious master bedroom with a California King bed, double wardrobe, and ensuite with walk-in shower (also accessible from the hallway) - a generous Queen bedroom - a children's room with two single beds—one with a trundle. The master and queen rooms open onto a second balcony through charming French doors. The laundry is also located on the downstairs level, complete with a washing machine, dryer, and tub. Just a few steps below, the backyard offers both sun and shade—ideal for unwinding after a day exploring the city. Lovingly prepared for guests, this home includes soft, fresh bed linens, pre-cut firewood in winter, and a complimentary bottle of NZ wine to welcome you. We hope you love this space as much as we do! You are welcome to enjoy the entire house and grounds, including one off-street parking space. Some cupboards inside the house are locked with personal possessions. Access is via lockbox/key safe. We are contactable at any time during your stay via Airbnb app, text or phone. Help is always close by! Hataitai Village is a 5-10min walk (downhill) from our property. Here, multiple bus routes connect Hataitai to the CBD, suburbs and the airport. You can walk into the city via Mt Victoria and the "Town Belt" - protected green walking tracks - or through the Mount Victoria tunnel. The city and the airport are both 10min by car. 1) This home is in a residential area, with neighbours in close proximity on either side. While the house feels very private, noise can travel easily and we ask our guests to respect the quiet hours we have set (10pm to 7am). 2) The carpark is off the street, down a shared driveway, and the house is down a further (short) flight of steps. 3) We have a single sofabed in the office to create a fourth bedroom if needed. There is a $20 surcharge for bedding if you wish to use the trundle bed and/or sofa bed. 4) Firewood is provided only during the colder months (May to October).
