  • Treat yourself to a relaxing break with your canine companion and small family in a traditional seaside cottage in the Norfolk Coast Area Outstanding Natural Beauty. Spend your time exploring the nearby nature reserves, sandy beaches and charming villages before relaxing in front of the wood burner in the cosy open-plan living area with a wooden beamed ceiling.

    Step inside to find a sociable space consisting of a lounge/kitchen/diner. Cook a special dinner for your loved ones in the quirky farmhouse-style kitchen area with coastal colours and a convenient washer/dryer. Gather around the wooden dining table and chairs to share a meal before moving to the lounge with a comfortable sofa and an armchair in front of the Smart TV and exposed stone inglenook fireplace with a wood burner. Up the steep cottage-style stairs is a separate WC plus two bedrooms – a double with an en-suite shower room and a single.

    During your stay in Wells-next-the-Sea, you’ll have a small number of eateries, a shop and a golf course within 0.5 miles. There is also a harbour where you can go on an adventure by boat and even rent a stand-up paddleboard. Start your day with a stroll along the Norfolk Coast Path (0.5 miles) to North Point Pools hiking area (1.5 miles). Explore the expansive Holkham National Nature Reserve (1.5 miles) where you’ll find salt marshes and a pristine sandy beach. Holkham Hall estate is 2.5 miles away and is home to a tranquil lake, a deer park and historic landmarks.

A lovely few days away.

It’s our first time in Norfolk,and Wells is a grate place to stay.Bay Cottage is so cosy and cute, close to everything.Superb welcome pack,very handy,much appreciated. Comfy bed and pillows.Lovely to have the fire set up ready to relax in front of.Nice meal at the Golden Fleece and Wells Crab House.

We had such a lovely, long weekend stay with our dog. The cottage is small but has everything you need and is very quaint. The beach is about 25 mins walk but it’s a lovely walk along the harbour. The dog friendly beach is absolutely stunning. You could drive to the beach but we didn’t want to lose our parking spot outside of the cottage. Definitely would return.

Cleanliness not good

Crumbs in baking pans, lip marks on a glass, blood spot on duvet cover, sticky stain in cutlery drawer. Disappointed as we had to vacate at 9.00am for thorough cleaning to take place!

Please note before booking

A lovely welcome pack greets you. Thank you. Bedrooms clean as well as shower room. However on the minus side it was not mentioned that the WC is incredible small and they the door opens out to the stairs. At night you could get it wrong and fall down the stairs. We left a light on to help us seeing the edge of the stairs. The road seems to be uses as a rat race and vehicles are driving very fast down the strip at any time during the day or night. The overhead cooker hub is noticeably dirty and has not been cleaned for a while. The tap when running water , squirts it out sideways which doesn’t help when trying to start washing up. For these reasons we would not stay here again.
