Great family gathering place
We were so happy with The Oak House. This place has 5 bedrooms and 4 of those are very large, making ample room for air mattresses if needed. The kitchen was roomy, and the two dining areas made for great spreads, board games, and conversation. I was worried noise would vary throughout the house but it was not bad at all. My kids enjoyed the basketball hoop. There was a corner store and a restaurant within walking distance, plus Starbucks, McDonald’s, Sonic and a huge gas station within a mile. We made our way down to Waco several times for tourism, groceries, and shopping.

Nice and Easy
Carla was a great host! The house was. Lean and tidy, and checkin was extremely easy. She knew we were staying in town for our university’s homecoming and had school themed decorations in place, and left us a welcome cake. There’s a binder full of recommendations of all the best places to eat, etc. everything in the house was nicely labeled making it extremely easy to find anything. A truely lovely experience.

Awesome Autumn Baby Shower & Girls Weekend
We were looking for a special place for baby shower. Our daughter-in-law’s out of town guests wanted to have a girls weekend while together. We combined it all with additional guests for a brunch shower and this location was perfect! We had everything plus extras; the owner was so accommodating and a step ahead with everything! Definitely 5 stars and above!

Girl’s weekend was a BLAST!
We had a wonderful stay with all of the amenities you could possibly imagine! We LOVED the house and location was within walking distance to cute little boutiques, restaurants and bars! Great for a relaxing and fun Girls weekend!! It was perfect and so was the host!! Check in process was super easy and had ample parking! We were shown some lovely hospitality by a local family owned breakfast taco place that delivered our breakfast this morning! Thank you again! We will definitely be happy to come back and refer! Thanks again for the warm welcome and that delicious (and HUGE) cinnamon roll!!

Oh, Texas!
We were in town for a wedding! Home had plenty of space ! Creaky is right, but charming! Those trains though…..we had a good laugh about different conductors and how long they blew their horn! Thanks for having us! And being flexible about check in and check out!

Great Property

Amazing house!
We stayed here for a weekend trip to Waco and Fort Worth. Perfect location outside of the bustling cities. About 20 minutes to Waco and an hour to Fort Worth. Spacious house - we had 6 adults and 2 babies and never felt cramped. Kitchen was fully stocked, great bakery across the street, easy access to the interstate without feeling like you are right on it. House is gorgeous - beauty of an old house with the convenience of updated fixtures. Carla was an amazing host! She was very responsive and gave great recommendations! Will definitely stay here again when we come back to the area.

Wonderful Stay in West!
Our stay in west at the Oak House was wonderful! Our family gathered here for the OU Baylor football game - we traveled from Duncan, Edmond and Clinton Oklahoma, Bryan Texas and upstate New York !! It was the perfect place for our whole family to catch up and enjoy one another. The house had plenty of space for the 11 of us. It was cozy, spacious and rich in history, which made everyone feel super comfortable! We ate nearby at the Tipsy Lion and picked up food across the stress from the pizza house - even enjoyed using the basketball goal for a little pee dinner game! Our host Carla was fabulous and checked in to make sure we were taken care of! Everything was easy, accessible and very clean - we all highly recommend staying here!

fun retreat
There were eight of us and we were in the area one night for a Baylor game. Some of the girls wanted to stay in a restored home and this one was just perfect. So many little touches and the ambience of a by-gone era. It was evident that this is an owner that really cares! on the way to the game we went just down the street to the bakery! It was such a fun stay!

Beautiful historic home yet so homey
Beautiful historic home that was immaculate and beautifully renovated while still being homey and comfortable. The kitchen and linens were amply supplied and of nice quality. The outside temperatures were near 100 degrees and the AC system kept everyone cool even the bedrooms on the 2nd floor.

Awesome home and host-great location!

Lovely House in West!
We loved staying at the Oak House! Such a unique, lovely home. Loved the detail that the owners have put into making it feel welcoming. We loved the antique, but also modern style. Carla was so thoughtful in all the details of making our stay really great! Our group had a wonderful time relaxing, getting away, and enjoyed the downtown of West as well as how close it was to Waco. This weekend truly was a blessing to us! We can't wait to stay at the Oak House again!

Absolutely beautiful home
We all loved the house! It's a very well kept mid century colonial home. The stain glass windows around the front door were my favorite. And the house is a short walk to a really great restaurant. The owners were fantastic! They responded very quickly to our questions. If we visit Waco again we will definitely be staying here.

Owner was very responsive to questions and requests. House had everything we needed except a high chair. Quite a bit of road noise and noise from the nearby train. But that was fixed with ear plugs. Would stay again.

Perfect New Years location
My friends and I had the best time in the Oak house for New Year’s Eve. Carla kept everything clean and beautiful! Carla was super responsive with any questions I had and was so kind. Overall, we had the best time and I would recommend this home to anyone. We will be back!

A great memory for the family!
We would do this again! We had three sons and their families stay for two nights. Everyone had their own spaces, the kids could play with their cousins, and the adults could visit and catch up on things. It was a great base camp for going to see Magnolia Farms and shops which made it a great trip for the daughter-in-laws! House is very clean and the kitchen is well-stocked with nice appliances and kitchenware. It has it's own driveway and parking lot so all the vehicles were off the street and protected. The host was very responsive during the whole process. Thank you Carla...awesome home!

Christmas
Our two children, spouses, and five grandchildren found The Oak House to suit our needs really well. The toddlers had plenty of room to run and the rest of us had space for a puzzle and table games. The kitchen was spacious, very clean, and had what we needed to complete preparation of the meals we brought with us. The Christmas tree was a nice touch to make our Christmas gathering authentic!

The home is beautiful. Beautiful Christmas decorations in every room. Kitchen was well supplied for cooking. Very up to date electrical & heat/ AC we’re in good working order. We would most likely rent it again. The only negatives were the train noise & creaky floors, but the house is 100 years old. You cDNA turn the fans on constant to help with noise,

Great house - you'll be impressed!
Place is even nicer in person than in the pics - very pleased. Main-floor master is phenomenal. They have everything you could think of already covered and are a step ahead. Lots of nice, personal touches to help us celebrate the big events that were going on. We had some "challenges" with our stay that were outside the control of everyone - but Carla was very communicative and made sure everything was smooth sailing. Pairing a great property with an amazing host makes this a great choice!

Family wedding get together
We had a wedding in Waco for my cousin and this house accommodated all the out of town travelers. There were about 15 of us all including the kids. Great Family Time
There were 11 of us and we had a great time and plenty of space. There are games already at the house and we took advantage of them. The kitchen was a favorite gathering place and had everything we need to cook meals. Even though the house is located in West, it is close enough to Waco to not be a problem. Plus, West is such a quaint little town you will love it. Not to mention the kolache shop close by. We left a few things and Carla contacted us before we got out of town to come back and get them. Highly recommend to stay here!!!

Wonderful place to stay in West!!
We loved staying at the Oak House!! It's a great location, and a beautiful house!! There were so many wonderful touches that added to our comfort and made us all feel very welcome!! I can only sleep in a recliner, and the owner brought one in (probably one of the most comfortable recliners I've ever slept in!!) specifically for me to use. That's hospitality!! We had 8 adults and 2 children in our group, and there was plenty of room for everyone.

Whoop for the Oak House!
We used this house for our retreat for our Texas A&M student organization and it could not have been more perfect. The home is very spacious and absolutely adorable. The location was perfect and all the yard space and parking was very helpful because of all our members. Carla was amazing and so helpful and hospitable to us. We really enjoyed this property and I will definitely be back in the future for other events!

The cutest house in West
A group of us rented the house in West so we could be closer to the wedding we were going to in Elm Mott. Not only was the house conveniently located (super close to Gerik's), but it was so warm & inviting as well. The house has been lovingly restored & taken care of. Carla was a gracious host. All of the beds were comfy, and we enjoyed having a spot to hang out in after the wedding. This is one of the best homes I've stayed in across any of the channels (Air BnB, HomeAway, VRBO, etc). We would all absolutely stay again!

Absolutely loved it!!
Oak House was everything my large group needed!! The rooms are spacious, plenty of storage, updated bathroom and kitchen made the stay a tad more enjoyable. A few of us enjoyed coffee that was provided by Carla on the front porch. Carla truly made this experience the most enjoyable. She truly thought of everything in that house! We will DEFINITELY be back!
