Booked mostly because we wanted a room for a large family (8adults, 2 children) with a pool for the weekend. Upon check-in we were told the pool and hot tub were closed because of fear of roof collapsing, because of snow. Really? A bldg in West Yellowstone, MT not built for snow loads?? Frustrated that we had to load up go to other hotels to use their pools, especially with a 7 mos. old and handicapped adult in our group. But the establishment itself was clean, staff was nice, and even the Murphy bed was comfortable. The seating in the living room area wasn’t enough for a condo that sleeps 8, and neither was it comfortable. But we made it work. One instance was a bit disappointing; on first night, son and wife had fussy baby at midnight. They took baby out of room to walk her to quiet her so as not to wake the rest of us. So they went down to the activity room, which was empty and away from other rooms. However, the lady who was on the night shift, told them they couldn’t stay there, and made them go into the lounge on the 2nd floor. When DIL discovered they didn’t have a room key, she went and asked the front desk if they could get another one. The lady refused, said they needed ID, which of course they hadn’t taken with them. It’s midnight!! DIL gave her their names (which I’d had to write down the names of all occupants in our room at time of check in) but lady refused to look it up, and said she would escort them to the room to get their ID. The whole reason to get another key was so they wouldn’t have to wake any of the others to get back in the room. This lady acted like they had just walked in from the street and were up to no good. DIL had to text me to slide a key under the door. She was furious with the front desk. But despite this and the pool situation, our family made the most of it and enjoyed our stay.
