A perfect honeymoon
An ideal spot to decompress and get away from the rat race. very secluded views are awesome. Breathtaking.. such a beautiful home. It was a pleasure experiencing West Cliff.

A BEAUTIFUL Reset
Perfectly peaceful place to get away to enjoy the views and "reset". The huge porch made it easy to burn several hours at literally just looking at the mountains with a few cocktails. The home was clean and very spacious that was plenty accommodating for our family of 6. The property manager was very easily and quickly responsive for our garbage pickup requests and even provided a bag full of carrots to feed to the donkeys down the road. We couldn't have been more pleased with this selection for our 2 week vacation which we packed full of activities close enough for our likings. ATV'ing, Pontooning, Water Rapids, Horseback Riding, Trout Fishing, Westcliffe's Rodeo....We will definitely be back in the future....Thank you Cleaveland's!!

Absolutely breathtaking views. The pictures truly do not do this place justice. The cabin is well stocked and has everything you need inside and out. Great place for kids to hike around the cabin and out to the treehouse. Absolutely wonderful place. Cozy fires on both floors. We will be back!

Great Location
We have stayed in many cabins. This one is top 2 for location and views. Cabin is put together well, has what you need to cook. One thing I hate for all cabins is paying the cleaning fee and then they are not clean. Don't get me wrong the floor is swept, beds neatly made, bathrooms okay. But the cabin is not clean, lots of thick dust, cobwebs, dirty windows. When the sun sets with all those windows facing west you'll see. I cleaned some of it, got rid of some cob webs and cleaned the extremely dirty grill. Enough on that. Like I said the views are great, weather is so nice up there. Pictures showed a telescope in the living room, it won't be there so don't get your hopes up, would have been nice with all those stars you will definitely see. All in all the location is the best part, cabin is average, like most the pictures are better than what you get. Furniture inside and out needs updating for what they charge. Good vacation though.

Views for days!
This is a perfect mountain getaway with spectacular views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range and centrally located for access to lots of outdoor activities. We climbed Mt. Yale, hiked down to the Great Sand Dunes from Mosca Pass, took several hikes up to lakes in the Sangres, rafted the Arkansas, and took a day to lounge at the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs! The kitchen is very well stocked and had everything we needed to cook our own meals (the stunning views from the wraparound porch provide the best seats in the house at dinner time)! There are plenty of towels, and we never ran out of hot water when everyone wanted to shower after our long hikes. The pull-out couch is comfy, in addition to the beds in bedrooms. Our only recommends are some linens/pillow upgrades and a bathtub tray for the master bedroom’s claw-foot tub. If no hummingbird feeder is up, we recommend buying one at the local Ace Hardware and packing it home after your stay. They put on an amazing show for us! You can recycle cardboard, aluminum and tin cans for free at the nearby Westcliffe landfill and recycling center. We would 100% come back to this cabin!

Wow!!! A home with a “Million dollar” view!
My family and I (husband and 4 daughters, ages 14-21) stayed at this home for a week. This home was our home base for hiking 14ers. We hiked Mt. Humboldt, which was about 30-40 minutes from the home and easy to get to the trailhead. Their were also 2 other peaks you could hike at this same location if you wanted. Kit Carson took about 2 hours to get too, so that was a little distance and a long day when we had to leave at 2:30 in the morning. It took about 2 1/2 hours to get too the Great Sand Dunes National Park, and 50 minutes to get too Bishop’s Castle. We enjoyed both the park and castle, but the girls favored the castle the most. As for the home. We didn’t have any trouble getting in or finding the place. We didn’t even have to go inside to see the “Million dollar” view. It was right there, nothing blocking it’s view. The wrap around porch was great, plenty of chairs for the 6 of us to view the mountains and sunsets. For the inside. The home was clean and had plenty of room to move around. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking, even had a KitchenAid mixer. The grill was just outside the dining/kitchen area, which was great for cooking. The 2 bedrooms on this floor were good size. The bunk bed was a little noisy when the top bunk was occupied, but the girls slept fine. We didn’t use the basement at all, it felt too secluded. Too warm out to use the sauna, but looked nice with a bath next to it. The upstairs had the loft, master bedroom and bath. Loft had a large screened tv, but not a lot of seating to view. (We didn’t watch much tv, so not a problem for us.) The master bedroom and bath were good size and had plenty of towels. I have to say, this home had great circulation when their was a nice breeze outside. We did bring our own fans with us, so that helped a lot on those hot nights and no breeze. WiFi was fast at the home, but when we left the home for day trips, the service was slow or no service at all in spots . (We needed our maps. 🙂) Over all we had a nice time, and would come back again. Mr. Cleveland was a great communicator and responded quickly. Thanks!!

Perfect CO vacation Spot
The cabin was perfect for our needs. About 20 minutes to town but far enough out you didn’t have neighbors making noise and disturbing you. Gorgeous views of the Sange De Cristo mountain range. Would highly recommend this place. We had ages ranging from 5 to 75 staying in the cabin.

Great experience.
Getting away with our three college kids is an important event for our family. We could not have spent this important time in a more perfect place. The home is exactly as advertised if not better than advertised. If not for the abundance of area attractions we traveled to see we could have easily spent our entire stay on the deck looking at the mountains and watching the deer and humming birds. Communication with the owners was excellent.

Couldn't Be Better!!!
We came to Westcliffe after spending some time in Denver. We've stayed at many cabins in our years of traveling around the US, and this was, without question, one of the best. The location makes it for a quiet getaway in the mountains where we saw deer every morning and star-filled skies at night. The owners and property manager do an excellent job of maintaining the cabin. It was immaculate from top to bottom and very well equipped with everything you need. I'll definitely be coming back. Thanks for hosting us!

Amazing View!!
We enjoyed our stay in Hofuf cabin! It was perfect for our two family rendezvous in CO. We enjoyed jeeping, hiking, fishing, photography, etc. The cabin was exactly as described and well stocked. Very clean and funished for a group of 6. We loved that you could see mountains from all the windows in the cabin! It snowed the second day we were there. It was beautiful to see everything covered in white!! There is so much to do in the area or with a short drive (1+ hr). Westcliff and Silver Cliff are close enough for running to the store or to get a bite to eat. We drove into the Sangre de Cristo mountains to the west, the San Isabel forest to the east and to the Big Horn Sheep boxed canyon to the north on the way to Salida. Fished in Arkansas River and Lake Isabel. Our favorite part was the view! It was AMAZING!! The view was different every day and every time of the day. Waking up to see the mountains in the morning shining in the sunlight, watching the snow clouds cover the peaks and the sunset behind the mountains glowing in the backlight! It was truly purple mountain majesty!! We enjoyed God's beautiful creation the whole week!! Thanks for sharing your cabin with our family!!

Wow!
I've stayed in several cabins throughout Colorado, but this is certainly one of the best! The view is incredible and the house is clean, beautiful and very relaxing. The upstairs suite is stunning with the fireplace and soaker tub. I so wish we could have stayed forever! The owner was very quick to answer any questions I had. I whole heartedly recommend this place. You will love it!

Beautiful peaceful cabin.
The cabin and property are so beautiful. we stayed over Christmas. Mr. Cleveland was so helpful he left his tree out for us. he answered so many questions couldn't ask for more. we saw deer and rabbits, saw some other tracks on the property too. built a snowman the size if my nephew.(almost 5 ft.) it was an amazing white Christmas. the sunrise and mountains were breath taking. I have never seen so many stars at one time. The whole experience was wonderful. if you are not use to snow the mountain can be a little hard to get up. everyone especially his property manager was so helpful.

Beautiful, Clean, Quiet
What an amazing home. The pictures do a good job of showing the home, but until you're there and you experience being there you'll understand how magnificent it really is. We're porch people, and if you're looking for a quiet place to escape the pandemic for a week or so there's no better place than one of the porches in this home. Views are spectacular - and do yourself a favor, turn off all the lights at night and watch the night sky come to life with every start to ever exist become visible (probably). Bring most of everything you need, but don't worry if you forget something - the town of Westcliffe isn't far away and they have a pretty well stocked grocery store. Don't be surprised if you can't find everything though, I overheard one customer ask the butcher if the chicken wings ever came in. Something I'd never expect to ask at my local grocery store. The town has a great charm to it. The local stores are quaint and offer inexpensive souvenirs. Overall, we had a great week. You're about 2 hours from Colorado Springs, but only about 1 hour or so to Royal Gorge. Both fun places to check out while you're visiting. Communication with Mr. Cleveland was excellent through the booking process and I really feel we got every penny out of our trip in memories and experiences. After our second day we were already talking about making this a yearly visit because we loved it so much.

A Quite Getaway
Family friendly cabin in very quite location. Especially well appointed kitchen with quality equipment We enjoyed family games, star gazing, and hikes to the tree house. The town of Westcliff is small and welcoming. It was a treat to see the railroad remnants - caboose and depot. Enjoyed ice cream treats at Sugarlimp and Sage Stop - both highly recommended. Grocery store was well stocked for any items you might need.

Safe, clean, quiet, BIG mountains. 9/24/20-10/3/2020
The Clevelands were the best hosts. Between them and their property management folks, our questions, needs and inquires were all met and answered. The Beds were very comfortable. My two kids age 4 and 2, (and me and my wife) all loved playing outside in the wide spread land, and of course inside as well. Kitchen stocked, double oven, huge fridge, Big TV (kids needed Mickey at least a little bit of course). The hike down and up the hills around the surrounding areas, and to the sweet treehouse, was exactly what adventure is. Holy smokes, the mountain views, we saw deer daily, theres a donkey farm down the road and they LOVE people, you can walk right up to the fence. The stars were great of course, never seen anything like it. Coyotes at night. I left feeling senses of peace and relaxation that have been missing for a while. Gorgeous setting and cabin, almost perfect!
We had a very nice stay in this beautiful property! The cabin is gorgeous with lovely decoration, and we appreciated that there was not a lot of clutter at the toddler height level. Our 2-year-old loved seeing the little kids in the family photos on the walls, but her favorite was the bear on the upstairs wall. She also loved the deep clawfoot tub, so deep she could splash without making a mess! The deck was beautiful and peaceful, and our kiddo loved the rocking adirondack chair. We saw tons of birds; no other animals, but plenty of elk scat when we went for our walks. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own meals (we did bring our own child utensils). The bathrooms were a little low on soap, so we would have bought some if we'd gone to the house before the grocery store. We had delicious lattes from Tumbleweed Coffee in town, and breakfast sandwiches and muffins from Sugar & Spice Bakery - highly recommend! The last 6 miles to the house are dirt roads, and a little hilly. The roads were well maintained, with maybe the last half mile or so washboard. We were in an SUV, but we wouldn’t have had any trouble in our sedan either. We would have liked the floors to be cleaner, especially under the furniture. The rest of the house, including the bathrooms and the linens, were very clean. The basement was a little dirty, but I think that’s because the rodent control folks who had come in left it a bit of a mess. We weren’t using the basement anyway, so it didn’t impact us. The only real problem we had was that there was rodent poison set up around the house. We contacted the owner and he responded immediately, apologized, and assured us that he would have his cleaning crew clean all of it up. (He also even offered us a partial refund.) He had hired professionals to come in for rodent control, and they used poison even though explicitly asked not to. I understand that sometimes contractors don’t do exactly what was asked, and I was really pleased with the owner's response, so I only mention this so that future renters can keep an eye out for the little green blocks, just in case. It's a good reminder to all of us with kids when we stay anywhere that's not home to watch out for unexpected dangers. Overall, if you’re looking for a quiet place with beautiful views, where your family can have some time away from the rest of the world, I recommend staying here. Thank you to the owners for sharing their vacation home!

Beautiful location with a cabin that would have been beautiful if only...
The location and views are awesome. Getting into the cabin involves climbing up a fairly steep incline that is full of loose rocks, no steps of any sort from the driveway up to the steps to the deck made for difficult unloading the car by us older folks. The cabin displays many very nice decorative touches and feels like a loving home filled with many wonderful family photos.Location was a bit farther from town but enjoyed the isolation and quiet. Especially during COVID. However, we were not prepared for the lack of cleanliness. Having lived in the country off gravel roads on 40 acres, I know dust is inevitable. I even realize it is practically impossible to be 100% free from mice in these settings. The kitchen had not a single empty cupboard. Not only were they filled with the usual kitchen items but with bird feeders and feed, and open containers of food. The refrigerator and freezer was also full of food, evidence of frozen food having melted and run down the walls. This just feels so wrong with COVID and mice. We spent our first four hours after a three hour drive cleaning the kitchen in order to unpack the food supplies we brought with us and sweeping up evidence of mice. During this time, we had the pleasure of two mice joining us in the kitchen. The sauna was in the basement. An unpleasant odor permeated that level, rendering it unusable to us. But no big deal. We kept the door closed. We truly enjoyed the views from all the decks, even after the smoke from the various fires moved in. In attempts to avoid encountering mice in the dark, which happened the first night, we began leaving lights on when we went to bed. Our excursion to Bishop’s Castle was enjoyable as was our walk in the vicinity of the cabin. Dinner at the Alpine Lodge was quite nice as well as the walks around town. Our daughter and son-in-law have purchased property near Westcliffe and we are hoping to find a rental property we could use in the future while visiting them. I think we will continue that search as we remember our stay at this cabin with mixed feelings.

Amazing views!
Our family very much enjoyed the cabin and Westcliffe. The views were amazing and it offered the solitude that we were seeking in this crazy, Covid time. While the town is small, it was very quaint and offered select options for dinner and Silver Cliff had a few places as well. Coffee shops and ice cream shops were abound! We enjoyed hiking and nearby horseback riding and whitewater rafting. The are also offered Interesting history to explore! We would definitely return!

Quiet cabin
Cabin was large enough for all of us but the beds were not very comfortable. The windows in the living room offered a great view of the mountains, but would’ve been better had they been clean. Also, there is a mouse problem. Westcliffe is a great small town with quaint shops. Not a lot of eating options but the kitchen in the cabin made eating in easy. Lots of movies and books available to pass the time. Great star gazing and animal viewing. The “treehouse” disappointed the children. It should be called a “platform” and it’s hard to hike back up the hill to the house, had to hike to the nearby road and have my husband pick me up in the car. Overall, we enjoyed our time there.

A gorgeous place to stay with the family
If you want to feel alone and free, spend some days in this gorgeous cabin. We had a blast with the kids, visited Great Sand Dunes (2:30 hours drive) and the Royal Gorge (1:15 hour), walked a lot around the cabin. Wildlife is amazing - even saw a black bear ... the cabin was perfect for our family of 5.

Beautiful Views and Relaxing Family Vacation
Our family enjoyed staying in this beautiful cabin that we used as our home base to explore the surrounding area. Some days we stayed at the cabin and relaxed on the deck surrounded by beautiful mountains. Our grandkids enjoyed the sandpile. It was nice to disconnect from electronics and spend time in God’s beautiful creation. We hope to return someday.

Summer getaway
This is a great cabin with amazing views! It feels like you are the only people within miles but the town of Westcliffe an easy drive (30 min). There is also a lot of fun activities to do in the area (horseback riding, white water rafting). We really loved seeing the deer and watching all the hummingbirds! We will definitely be back.

Wonderful Christmas
We loved our stay at this beautiful cabin outside of Westcliffe. Everything was just as described. We had a wonderful vacation and Christmas. We loved the area and would definitely love to come back in the summer time, too. Thanks for your service and thanks to your family for welcoming us into your home.

Perfect Thanksgiving Stay
Our Family wants to thank you both for your service and the privilege of staying in the cabin. My 9 year old enjoyed sledding down the hill. We took an adventure and found the treehouse! The kitchen is well stocked and beautiful. The satellite internet was a huge plus. The heated floors and fireplace kept the house very comfortable. The view are breathtaking! Thank you for the little extra touches that made our stay perfect . The instruction binder was a pleasure to read and informative. The near by town of Westcliffe is a little slice of Heaven. Great shops, lots of restaurants, and a well stocked grocery store. We are excited to return for years to come.

Wonderful Mountain Retreat
This was our second time to stay at this property. It is peaceful and quiet, with beautiful mountain views and abundant wildlife. The aspens were turning gold while we were there and it was truly magical! Can’t say enough good things about this wonderful home and its stunning location.

White Family Vacation 2019
Our family enjoys yearly fall adventures in the Colorado Rockies. We love exploring new regions. This cabin by far had the most spectacular views we have ever experienced! My wife and five children spent a week hiking and exploring the Westcliffe area. Friday evening ended with an amazing star gazing party at the observatory. What an adventure! Our family loves this area of Colorado and hope to return soon. We appreciate the Cleveland Family for sharing their home and their hospitality! Thank you!

Mountain View
Our overall experience was amazing! Very easy and very smooth process. Very beautiful views of mountains on all sides of the house. Lots of wildlife, spots for exploration, close to different activities. Plenty of room for our group. The mattresses could use some updating. The two pull out beds and the bunk bed mattresses are not comfortable at all for adults to sleep on. The fireplaces did not work even after trying to relight the pilot lights. Otherwise the house had everything we needed and was an amazing spot for our weeklong family vacation.
