âWe spent one night at the Family Tree, and were very pleased with the stay. The staff members were friendly, the room was cozy and fresh. The breakfast was the best during our four days in the UK. It would have been nice to stay another day. â
âI like staying here as you can park right outside your room. There is an excellent bar and restaurant and I enjoyed sitting outside with a drink in the evening.

âIt is a nice place to stay if you are in the area on a business trip (in my case the company I visited was within <10 min walking distance). The area is quiet and far from disturbing traffic and other noise.
The hotel supplied all the services required for my stay.
There is also a gym located in the same building.
In general the impression is good. However, one night the fire alarm started (false alarms) repetadly during a period of almost one hour.â

âSpent two nights as a couple with a small dog. Totally relaxing break on the banks of the River Trent. Stayed in one of the adjacent cottages (no 14). Excellent. Only niggles were that although the bathroom had been recently refurbished, the extractor fan was not working and there was nowhere to hang a towel. Bathroom had the best shower I have ever used. Talk about a whoosh!
We ate both nights in the restaurant. It had a limited menu, but the food was good. Food and drinks reasonably priced....
âMy husband and I would like to recommend, in the highest terms, Sam, who seemed to be in charge of everything. She was cool, calm and extremely efficient.
We were very impressed with her, from the fact that she changed our room so that we would be less disturbed by the inevitable functions that were on at the time of our stay, to remembering what we like to drink and being so cheerful and friendly at all times.
She could not have been more helpful.

âThe room was beautiful. We had been to a wedding so they allowed late arrival back. The only feedback is they the room was stifling hot to enter. There wasnât air conditioning but there was a fan they I was happy with. The pillows were so comfy and it was a luxurious stay. Would return. Breakfast was also delicious. â
âAnother restful stay at this lovely hotel. Itâs always spotlessly clean and well maintained. The rooms are modern and well appointed. The bar /restaurant is excellent. We normally stay weekdays and itâs pretty quiet but itâs a near perfect wedding/party venue so I would imagine itâs pretty busy and maybe not so restful at the weekends. Itâs situated near but not in the Peak District in lovely surroundings. Hopefully weâll be back again sometime.â
