The Perch on Town Lake – Upscale Lakefront Retreat Near Pictured Rocks

The Perch on Town Lake is a beautifully appointed, upscale lakefront cabin offering year-round recreation, comfort, and a peaceful setting just minutes from Munising and the Pictured Rocks area.

Winter

During the winter season, guests enjoy convenient access to the snowmobile trail system using nearby trail connectors and road riding typical for the Upper Peninsula. Under normal winter conditions, trailering is usually not required. The property offers ample parking for trucks and trailers and sits directly on Town Lake, making it a popular choice for combining snowmobiling with ice fishing and quiet winter relaxation.

This is also a great winter option for larger groups when booked together with nearby Hiawatha’s Hideaway and Maple Ridge (approximately 0.2 miles apart). Please ask for details if you’d like help booking multiple cabins.

Spring, Summer & Fall

In the warmer months, The Perch truly shines as a lakefront retreat. Guests have direct access to Town Lake via stairs, making it easy to enjoy the water throughout the day. Kayaks are available for guest use, perfect for paddling, relaxing on the lake, and wildlife viewing.

A beautiful main-level deck overlooks Town Lake, offering an ideal spot for morning coffee, sunset views, and outdoor dining. On the lower level, a screened-in porch provides a comfortable, bug-free space to relax, read, or unwind after a day of exploring.

The outdoor amenities include a gas grill and a large fire pit, perfect for evening gatherings, cooking outdoors, and enjoying time by the fire.

Guests appreciate the peaceful lakeside setting while still being close to hiking trails, waterfalls, canoeing, kayaking, biking, sightseeing, local beaches along Lake Superior, live music, shops, and restaurants in nearby Munising.

Cabin Details

The Perch is a gorgeous, upscale cabin featuring 3 bedrooms with a mix of queen, full, and twin beds, making it well-suited for families or groups of friends. The cabin includes 2 full bathrooms, WiFi, heating, and laundry facilities for added comfort during longer stays.

The layout and finishes create a warm, inviting atmosphere that blends natural beauty with modern convenience — an ideal place to relax after a full day of outdoor adventure.

Plenty of parking is available for vehicles, trailers, and recreational equipment.

This home is professionally managed by Hiawatha’s Hideaway, offering several unique vacation homes in the area.

We had an unforgettable time. The house was perfect: clean, cozy, and well-stocked with everything we needed. The location was peaceful but still close to the waterfalls and other sights.The real magic happened the morning we were leaving. We woke up to fresh snow, and the cabin and lake looked absolutely beautiful. It felt like a winter wonderland.The host was great, and it’s clear the cabin is well cared for and loved. Highly recommend for a relaxing and scenic getaway, especially in the winter.

An amazing cabin on Town Lake!

We had a perfect time at the Perch. It is one of those VRBOs that you can tell is loved and used by its owners. So thoughtfully decorated and beautifully maintained. Town Lake was beautiful, warm, and fun too. Including kayaks for use was really nice. Highly recommend.

Yooper Perfection

Could not have asked for a better spot for our group visiting the pictured rocks. Close enough to everything we wanted to do and also felt away from it all when we wanted to reset. I’ve been visiting the UP for 20 years and have not stayed in a better appointed cabin. Perfect views and beautiful place.

Family U.P. Waterfall & Lighthouse Tour

We used The Perch as our base as we took day trips to different waterfalls and lighthouses. This home was well-stocked, comfortable, decorated nicely in a serene atmosphere. We enjoyed kayaking the lake, and relaxing on the deck overlooking the lake. We appreciated the little extras that were waiting for us - cinnamon raisin bread, coffee, creamers, and jam. My group commented that this is one of the nicest - if not the nicest - VRBO we've rented! One thing that was difficult was the actual address to be able to get accurate directions downloaded before booking. Lisa was great to let us know that VRBO was not positioned accurately on the website, but I still had trouble finding the residence with the address provided. She had a very good description of surrounding businesses that helped us zero in. We would definitely rent this property again!
