Shell Cottage offers the perfect setting for a seaside getaway in Whitstable, with the beach just a pleasant few minutes' stroll past the town's delightful array of boutiques, delicious restaurants, inviting coffee shops, and charming art galleries. Upstairs, the cottage features a comfortable double bedroom and a twin bedroom. Downstairs, an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area leads to a convenient ground-floor bathroom with a shower over the bath.
You check in using a key box code. I am however local to the area, so if you need anything or have any questions, I am only a phone call away and a short drive!
Whitstable's charming town centre, offering local shops, the historic working harbour with its vibrant market, and the stony beach dotted with colourful beach huts along Tankerton Slopes are all within easy walking distance. The beach and sailing club are conveniently located a ten-minute walk past the harbour, where you can also find delicious fresh seafood. The seaside town boasts an abundance of unique boutiques, cafés, and restaurants, providing ample opportunities to enjoy an evening out sampling locally sourced cuisine.

Step through the front door into the living room and sink into an armchair by the cosy log burner, or enjoy a board game at the dining room table while dinner is prepared in the galley kitchen. The dining area seamlessly opens onto a delightful beach-themed garden complete with decking and an inviting outdoor eating area. Featuring wooden worktops and a classic butler sink, the well-equipped galley kitchen offers everything you need for preparing delicious meals, including an electric oven, gas hob, kettle, toaster, dishwasher, and a Nespresso coffee machine to gently wake up in the morning. The ground-floor bathroom features a toilet, wash basin, and a large, inviting bath with over head shower perfect for a relaxing soak after a day exploring Whitstable.
Ascending the stairs, you'll discover a double bedroom at the rear and a twin bedroom at the front, both thoughtfully furnished with a vintage chest of drawers and clothes hangers.
For families with children, the property is equipped with a travel cot, high chair, stair gate, and a selection of books, toys, and games to ensure a comfortable and entertaining stay.
Shell Cottage is next door to The Roost which is convenient for 8 guests to stay in two properties.
There is free street parking on the road and surrounding roads. The nearest paid parking is Victoria Street car park. You can view the charges on the Canterbury City Council website. Parking can be limited in the high season but once you have parked up, you are close enough to walk into town, beach, shops etc.
You can also visit the 'Just Park' website to find out where to park in Whitstable.
There are frequent busses running from Whitstable to Herne Bay and Canterbury. You will find bus stops along Harbour Street, High Street, Oxford Street etc.
The trains from Whitstable station will take you to Ramsgate or further afield to London. Whitstable Train Station is about a 10 minute walk to the town centre.
Whitstable Taxi services are available for short fares or airport runs.
The nearest airports are in London and the nearest Ferry port is in Dover.
Please refrain from letting pets upstairs and on the furniture.
