Perfect NC500 stop
Lovely hosts who made us feel very welcome! The B&B is in a central location within Wick right opposite a Lidl. The rooms were cosy and homely. Breakfast was beyond our wildest expectations! Couldn’t recommend more for couples doing the NC500 like us.

We travelled through Scotland and stayed at 12 different places, this was by far the best. Excellent services and hospitality, would highly recommend and definitely be coming back!

We had a fantastic stay here with Lydia. The room was very comfortable and easily accessible. The breakfast she cooked (1 full scottish and 1 smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on brioche bun) was so well done. We would absolutely book this again when we are going to the area.

Belle chambre mais dans une ville peu intéressante
Nous avons réservé le soir même, et avons eu de la chance que le couple accepte de nous recevoir après 18h. Chambre très confortable. Thé, café, et biscuits dans la chambre. Choix de petit-déjeuner. Parking devant la maison, s'il n'y a pas de match de foot au stade à côté.

House and room were immaculate and better than any B and B I have stayed in recently in the US. Went far beyond my expectations. Bathroom was HUGE by UK standards and very well decorated. Beds extremely comfortable. Best night sleep I had my entire trip. Seagulls in area loud, but not as bad as Ullapool. There is a community football field right next door which made my parking difficult in the evening and was loud, but it was all shut down by 9pm so no issues sleeping. Owners very hospitable and very kind. Breakfast was very good. Short walk to Old Pultney distillery. Would highly recommend.

Excellent stay over on our NC500 trip. Immaculately clean, very comfortable room and decor lovely. Hosts very lovely and made us feel at home. Delicious breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

The Clachan B&B is very clean and the finish is beautiful. Graeme, Lydia and Oscar are very welcoming and friendly. The location is great for walking into the town centre of Wick. The breakfast is delicious. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Couple 1 night stay
The parking is quite awkward, they can fit up to 4 cars, two behind two, but people are generally nice and understanding if you need to leave at a certain time. The room was nice, newly decorated it seemed and the facilities were good quality. The checkin was fast: we were just given a key and that was that 😊 Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short due to an unforeseen trip, but we had a good night sleep before leaving the next morning. Breakfast was good, a few basic choices but well cooked!

Fitted our Needs
We found the north east section of the NC500 uninspiring and if we were doing it again we would miss Thurso and Wick completely. That being said we were given a friendly welcome by the owner. The room was immaculately clean and there was plenty of storage space which is needed if you are doing the NC500 as you don't want to leave anything of value in your car. Breakfast was hot, fresh and filling setting us up for the journey the next day. The only minor improvement would be a far more powerful shower.

One of the B&B's we booked whilst completing our NC500 road trip..conveniently placed right on the route. The B&B itself is outstanding..the room was exceptionally clean and decorated to a very high standard..everything we could possibly need was supplied within the room..Hosts were both friendly and welcoming and suggested places to eat..Breakfast offered lots of choice from cereals to continental and cooked options all freshly cooked to order and was delicious. We would highly recommend The Clachan and would not hesitate to book again in the future.

Room was recently refurbished to a very high standard and was very clean and comfortable as was the rest of the property. The breakfast was excellent with a very good choice and the hosts were very friendly and extremely hospitable. Would definitely return and recommend to others

Wouldn’t hesitate to book another stay here!
The hosts were friendly, accommodating and followed Covid-19 rules well. The hosts were able to recommend local places to visit and eat at. Our room was clean and decorated well. The b&b is located within walking distance to Wick (under 10 mins), as well as a Lidl, shopping complex and petrol station. The bed was comfy. The bathroom was clean and had lovely toiletries from Loch Ness in it. Breakfast was nice and set us up for the day. We definitely would stay here if we visited Wick again!

Great Hosts
The accommodation was spotless including the dining areas. Lots of nice touches including a hot water bottle in the room but the rooms were adequately heated anyway. Graham and Lydia were very hospitable and bought us menus when we mentioned that we might get a takeaway. The breakfast options were more than expected on the cooked side and self service for cereals and yoghurt etc. It’s located close to a retail park that has a lidl should you need snacks and drinks for the day ahead.

Iittle gem on the NC500
Great stop on our NC500 adventure. Chose this B&B at the last minute after being cancelled, so lucky to find it. The welcome and hospitality was lovely. Everything Covid was explained, plenty of hand gel available.The room was spotlessly clean and we left with a delicious full scottish breakfast in our bellies! Highly recommended 👌
