Great Hill Country family reunion location!
We stayed at The Ranch at Wimberley over Thanksgiving for our annual Thanksgiving family reunion. This was our first time in Texas and everyone had a great time and enjoyed the property. There were five younger kids that were able to burn their energy exploring the property and running from the cottages to the main house to the pool house. The adults enjoyed the many different options for relaxing and catching up with each other. The fully stocked kitchen and overflow utility room made food preparation a breeze. Hill Country Premiere Lodging were extremely easy to work with and worked to answer all of our questions we had prior to arrival and as we were settling in. We even had a couple bumps on our end where I had to escalate an accident we had. They were very empathetic and assured us that accidents happen. They gave us leeway to try to resolve the issues on our end but also made it clear that they were happy to step in if needed. Overall, the consensus was that everyone loved the accommodations, the property, and the location and we would love to come back if we decide to return to Texas for our reunion. Sure, there are aspects of the facilities that are a little dated and some of the design aspects are a little quirky or humorous, but it just added to overall allure and quaintness of the property.

Great place - we loved it!
The Ranch at Wimberley was such a perfect spot for our group of 40! There was plenty of space for our group. We had SO much fun hanging out at the beautiful pool & around the pool had plenty of spots for our group to hang out. Everyone loved hiking, swimming, late night hot tub in solarium, game room & a dance party in the barn. It was very well stocked as well. It was so easy to cook in the very large kitchen - loved the walk in fridge too as it gave us plenty of room to keep everything cold instead of having to use cooler. Would recommend to large groups

Would DEFINITELY book again!
Perfect for large groups! We had a group of about 40 that stayed on the property for 3 nights. The accommodations were perfect - plenty of spaces to sleep (with beds that are actually comfortable). There was plenty to do on the property, we hardly wanted to leave to do anything else! It's also very close to town, so it was easy to run to the HEB for food to cook meals or just go into Wimberly for the day. Everything was very clean and well taken care of!

Amazing Property

Its not what the pictures make it out to be
There were good and bad things about this property. On a positive note, there was plenty of space and room for our group. The Wimberly town is close and super cute. Eric was AMAZING! But, it is very dated and could desperately need an upgrade. The ants were horrible. The pool was very far from the main house and cabins so it did not get used as much as it should have.And the pool needs some attention. The bottom looked awful so no-one really wanted to swim in it. I honestly believe if the took out all the unnecessary and old knick knacks, gave it a fresh coat of paint and organized the kitchen better it would be a really nice place for large groups.

Great unique space
Overall, good experience. This unique property was huge with a lot of space to hangout together as a group and have some private time, if needed. Kitchen in main house is fully stocked with walk in fridge. Don't forget to take a ride in the elevator!

Spacious and serene.
Everyone had something to do and the space to do it. The barn was a hit for music and a corn hole tournament. The lights throughout the property added to the serenity. The pool and pool house are better than they appear on the website. Family reunions, graduation celebrations, or a couple’s weekend are perfect for this property!

Great location for large groups
We stayed here for business meetings for our annual strategic planning. There was plenty of space for our group with a variety of activities on site. The only thing we were missing was a grill outside but we were able to work with the multiple kitchen options available.

Joke of a Chefs Kitchen
We tried communicating with the property managers to have an early arrival including paying a fee and was told it would not be possible. When we checked in there were exactly 2 spoons and 4 serving spoons - there were enough forks and butter knifes though. Not enough cutlery in the main kitchen. Papers and other items were left out and not cleaned well from previous renters. There were no instructions on how to use the induction cook top. The cook top buttons were not responsive and we couldn’t use it at all during the stay. The front right has burner wouldn’t light the front left if turned down too low would make the igniting sound and was unnerving. The oven in the main house is not able to keep temperature. Turn it on to 350 and it will be at 318 turn it to 400 it will be about 355. The oven also only has 2 metal racks between the top and bottom oven which meant for our size group we had to send people to use stoves in the other homes. The freezer had an ice machine it was broken and loose ice was left all over the bottom of the freezer. We set out fruit (cantelope and Mellon) on the kitchen area by the stools and had a ant infestation crawling on the plate of fruit within 30min. They left us 4 trash bags for a stay where we had 4 nights with 12 people so we ran out of trash bags, paper towels, no hand soap in the kitchen or spare bathrooms. There was no cookie sheet, there was on 9x13 pan to cook in a house that supports this number of guests. We had to buy so many supplies like extra tin pans, spoons, proper knifes for cooking because the supplies of this kitchen were lacking. The water faucets were weird because they the hot and cold was switched and my team had really uncomfortable first showers as they couldn’t figure it out. Some bedrooms had weird outlets and when we tried to find plugs we found previous renters left clothes under the beds. The water wasn’t drinkable to our team so we had to bring in bottles of water. The indoor hot tub room didn’t have lights so you couldn’t use the room too late When we arrived there were people living on the property with us in other buildings - that wasn’t in the listing and pretty startling to see people around and doing things while we were there. Wi-Fi was trash we could barely have 4 people on at a time. Not enough bandwidth to join a Google meet without video. Had to use phone hot spots for almost everything. Would not stay at this property again in this condition.

Thank you for your feedback. The phone number for on-site staff and manager is on the cover of a guest book prominently located in every unit for all questions related to guests' needs. Please feel free to call. Guests should call that number for the issues mentioned. There is another phone number for reservations and related questions. The staff is available to provide utensils and answer questions. Generally, ratings for cleanliness of all ranch units is 10, and there should be no trash after the cleaning staff is done. Instructions for the ranch house induction cooktop have been posted on the kitchen wall near the cooktop, in the guest book, and on the manufacturer's website and also available via a QR code (link) shown on the guest book cover. In addition to the induction cooktop, there is also a second 4 burner gas/LPG cooktop available in the kitchen. This is a large property that requires much preparation before guests arrive so most of the time an early check in is not possible. 2nd cooktop: A clicking sound of a burner occurs when the gas flow is too low or on initial ignition. The fix may be to set the burner flame higher or to a different setting. The oven temperature is set by digital controls, and both Whirlpool ovens in the ranch house are fairly new. Turning the temp up or down should mitigate a possible product temperature defect. There are about 9 ovens total in the cabins, cottage, ranch house and pool lodge. For entire ranch bookings, it is not uncommon for others to use their ovens for group and individual meals or group events. With 2 racks for each of the ranch house ovens, there are 4 total. New Refrigerator/Ice Maker: As of January 2022, there is a new freezer/refrigerator/ice maker in the ranch house. Extra towels, soap, and firewood and other items are available by calling the maintenance phone number. A new coffee machine, extra cookie sheets, serving spoons, utensils and knives have been added. Water valves: The shower has a temperature control and the right faucet/valve controls water flow/volume. The ranch water system includes a new 30,000 gallon rainwater collection tank and UV water treatment near the tank. The indoor atrium spa has lights that are activated with a labeled wall switch. We have added more liquid ant baits which have been effective in eliminating ants. Thank you for staying at the ranch; hope to see you again!

Perfect for large groups
This is a fantastic property for large groups. We were spread out, but could gather easily! Early birds could get up early without disturbing the night owls, and the night owls could stay up late without bothering the early birds! There were things to do rain or shine. The scenery is gorgeous and peaceful. We saw deer and armadillo. The kitchen was well equipped with any cookware needed. Plenty of fridge space, and a grocery store 15 min away for when we forgot key ingredients. :D Many of our group said how much they enjoyed this property, and we will definitely come here again.

Beautiful ranch
I would so recommend this property. It was an amazing and fun stay with so much to do. Mrs. Susan the manager at the ranch is so kind and was there for anything we needed help with. It is also very clean. So recomend to everyone that would like to get away with their fam.

Well-Managed Large Group Property
Our family reunion of nearly 40 people, ages 1 to 85, enjoyed the Ranch at Wimberley. The landscape even in late November was truly beautiful. The location was also perfect, less than 10 minutes from a fully stocked grocery store and cute town. Unlike many large group rentals, these homes and cabins were well-maintained and very clean. The managers were responsive to questions. The only quirk not readily apparent in the listing is that one of the entry-level bedrooms in the main house is accessible only from outdoors, by its own door. It wasn't a problem for us, but did result in some rearranging of bedroom assignments. We'd definitely return!

Very nice resort, very clean, very spacious.
We had our church men's retreat here for the weekend, the experience was amazing. The pool house the game area, the trails, the amazing house the scenery, it was the best property we had stayed at.
