Welcome to Grandsire at Lipwood House. A luxuriously modern loft apartment, comfortably sleeping 6, complete with breathtaking fell views. Nestled in a quiet, yet super central corner of Windermere, with two private car parking spaces.

Wind your way up a carpeted set of spindled stairs to arrive at Grandsire. The perfect sanctuary from any unkind Lake District weather. Hang up your coat and leave your muddy boots behind. Light, bright and cosy all at once; step through into the spacious and versatile loft apartment.



Wander through into the contemporary open-plan kitchen-diner. A beautiful, light and modern space fully equipped for all your cooking endeavours. Why not enjoy a frothy coffee with the brand-new Smeg coffee machine? Or perhaps cook up the canapes’, pour the fizz for your friends and family and relax round the dining table – Grandsire is the perfect venue for those whose enjoyment is in entertaining!



Beyond the kitchen-diner is the Scandi-styled living room. Curl up on the cosy corner sofa next to the roaring log burner; the perfect place to be after a long day on the hills. Spend your evening relaxing, watching TV or enjoying a board game with the whole family.



Retreat back to the entrance hall to discover what else Grandsire has to offer. Sneak a peek at the double bedroom opposite, a sumptuous space with gorgeous natural light. Explore the next bedroom, a larger room with beautiful views of the surrounding fells, pause here and watch as the fells rise up in the distance, creating a beautiful backdrop.



Next you’ll find the sleek and stylish brand-new main bathroom, fitted with a double sink, a separate walk-in shower and bath. Soak those aching feet from a day of fun-filled activities in a huge bubble bath with a glass of wine and a book… Blissful solitude.



However, the true master-suite is still to be discovered. A gorgeous room filled with character from the original fireplace, exposed beams and a charming window seat. Why not take a moment of mindfulness and watch as nature emerges on the garden below? This room boasts its own gleaming en-suite complete with a walk-in rainfall shower. Enjoy the cosy peace and quiet of this room, as the morning sun filters in through the window.



Grandsire boast's two private parking spaces, leave the cars here and enjoy  Windermere on foot, just a two minute stroll away. The pretty communal gardens, including a large lawn are available for your use, during your stay.

Great place to stay!

We recently had a long weekend staying in this fabulous apartment. We had a bit of a long drive and the wonderful team allowed us to check in early which was most appreciated. Communication was excellent all the way along. The welcome pack we found upon arrival was a really nice touch. The apartment was spotlessly clean, and very welcoming with high quality bed linen and towels. It’s also perfectly situated in Windermere! Cannot fault this apartment and will definitely recommend to friends and go back again ourselves! Just perfect.

Grandsire comments

Overall a wonderful property with a great location. Walkable to restaurants and groceries. We had a great time. Washing machine does not have a drying function contrary to the listing description. During our stay the water supply was interrupted due to a circuit breaker tripping for a pump. The property booklet should include instructions about the circuit breaker box - a 20 second self- help fix which we had to get the property manager to send a plumber for. We could not get in touch with the property manager from 11PM to 7 AM. A partition for the shower as well as a shelf for shampoo etc in the main bathroom shower would be convenient. Kitchen did not have kitchen towels or paper towels. Some pods of laundry detergent would be handy as well.

Clean and tidy apartment, good environment and convenient location. We all love it! However, l am a bit disappointed as there is no clothes dryer that was said included in the facilities list.

Dissappointed!

Enjoyed a lovely stay at this property with my family, however I was extremely distressed to have $350 withdrawn from my credit card on the pretext that we had cracked a window pane in our bedroom. My wife and I are mid seventies and all we have left are our good reputation and to have it trashed by the suggestion that we “Smashed” a window is beyond belief. We are old and rich enough to acknowledge and pay for any accidents we may have caused but we were not even given the opportunity to deny the event before the money was taken out of our account. Beware renting from this company. You have no way of recourse and will not be believed whatever happens.
