Fantastisk konverterad metodistkapell

Kapellet byggdes 1803 och omvandlades nyligen till ett vackert designat hus med stora sociala utrymmen som är perfekta för att underhålla vänner och familjer. När du kommer in i kapellet välkomnas du in i ett enormt salong med 2 loungeområden, en matplats och huvudtrappan som tar dig till första våningen. Huvudloungen är fokuserad runt en stor sten spis med en 18kw vedeldare med 2 stora soffor och 2 stolar. Det andra loungen med en L-formad soffa och stol är på framsidan av huset där du kan njuta av morgonsolen och titta på båtarna gå vid floden. Matbordet sitter bekvämt 12. Genom ekbågen går du in i det stora lantkök med en separat skafferi / tvättstuga och garderob. Spiraltrappa till första våningen, franska dörrar ut i trädgården. En 6 gassring / elektrisk ugn med dubbla intervall och ett matbord med plats för 10. Utanför finns det två loungearealer, ett med öppen spis, matbord och en Weber-trum-grill. Och om du har en båt - En privat förtöjning framför huset.

På första våningen finns fyra stora sovrum med dubbelsäng, alla med king size-sängar och madrasser med minne-skum - sovrummet har en superking stor säng och de 2 främre sovrummen har utsikt över floden. Ett stort våtrum med regndusch och ett härligt badrum med stort badkar. En stor hall med sittplatser tar dig till urtavlan trappan och upp till andra våningen med synliga balkar och ett annat loungeareal. Här har vi en öppen planlösningssuite med den 5: e king size-sängen och 2 tillfälliga gästsängar som kan göras var som helst i huset. Ett stort vardagsrum med 3 soffor och olika stolar plus en 48 "Samsung smart-tv. Detta rum mäter 10 meter med 6 meter så det finns gott om plats att koppla av eller umgås.

Vi har ett Sonos-musiksystem i hela huset, 2 Samsung smarta TV-apparater med Netflix och Amazon

Kapellet ligger i byn Upwell som har 3 pubar alla inom gångavstånd från huset, ett postkontor och närbutik intill och en slaktare plus en fish and chips-butik!
Härliga promenader längs floden och genom många fruktträdgårdar. En park med en barnvänlig inhägnad. En kyrka från 1100-talet och ett smalt båtföretag i byn som kan hämta dig utanför huset och ta dig med på dagsutflykter på floderna ...

Hunstanton och Holkom stränder ligger inom en timmes bilresa.,
Sandringham 45 minuters bilresa
Downham Market med tåg till London (1t 28 min tåg till Kings Cross) är en 10 minuters bilresa och Ely - 30 minuters bilresa

Incredible Interior Spaces Near Ely

Just the three of us came in from America for a wedding in Ely. The home is just gorgeous inside with beautiful, rich and cozy palette. The art is intriguing. It is just so tastfully done. We wish we would have had more time to just chill out in all the comfortable spots in the home. The beds were super comfortable, and the bathrooms were upgraded and large. As a owner of several VRBO's, I can be critical to spaces, this one was hard to find flaws in. Greg was also super easy to work with and very quick in responses. We live 11 time zones away but I never felt I was waiting for responses. Sarah C.

Stunning Property

The property is absolutely beautiful and perfect for a large group of people. We stayed for a family Christmas and particularly appreciated the two lounge areas that meant we weren’t on top of each other. Greg was very responsive to any questions or concerns, even on Christmas Day.

Birthday Bash!

Stayed for a weekend to celebrate a big birthday! Friends and family gathered at the old chapel for a fantastic party. There was plenty of space for us to sit in the summer sun having a BBQ, have all 12 of us around the dining table playing a murder mystery game and rooms to play hide and seek. The property was beautifully decorated, clean and spacious. The host had great communication throughout and the property was better than expected with everything you could possibly need, some milk, a birthday cake and treats for our 4 legged friends were also lovely surprises! thank you for the best stay we had an amazing time.

80th Celebrations

A stunning and interesting building for a multi-generational family to gather in and celebrate together. With a chef in the ranks, the request was for more than just one single sink in the kitchen and a stack load more tea towels please. Suggestions to raise the fantastic experience to perfection: : Softer towels : vanity mirrors in some of the bedrooms to check the lippy : instructions for the appliances A wonderful stay, in an amazing building, set within a unique British landscape.

Excellent Property for a large gathering

Lovely property. Great for a large gathering of either family or friends. Ideal for christmas. Owner very quick to respond to queries both before and when we had an issue when away (fuse box had tripped). Would recommend.

Absolutely stunning home, perfect for a big group

This was such an amazing place to stay for a group of 12 friends getting away for the weekend. The house is absolutely amazing- the old wooden doors and original features give it such character and the decor is super luxe - it made for a weekend that felt like a real treat! With a handy shop next door and a 30minute walk to the local canoe hire everything was easy and convenient. Only tip would be to make sure you book your taxis in advance as there are clearly not many in the area and we struggled to get hold of one at short notice when calling from the train.

Amazing house for a 60th family birthday party

Wow, the house is amazing. For a family of 9 people there was plenty of room for us all. The garden is great and we spent nights sat outside or around the large table. Everything is thought of for your stay and we would definitely recommend this to anyone thinking of renting this property. Gregory the owner is very helpful and nothing is too much trouble for him. The location is quiet (which we wanted) but there is a lovely pub in the village we a few of the group went too (to watch football on sky - but they didnt have it lol). A walk around the village is a must and the church over the road is lovely to have a walk around to blow off the cobwebs. A fantastic weekend was had by all, would definitely recommend, thank you the Hargadon gang

The perfect place!

We absolutely loved this house, it was perfect for everything we needed, with there being so many areas to socialise, you don't feel as though you are all on top of each other. The rooms are decorated beautifully and the bathrooms are gorgeous! The outside space is ideal too. We had communication with greg the whole time and he sorted out any questions we had straight away.

Family stay in Old chapel, Upwell Village

We had a lovely stay in the Old Chapel, Upwell village. The house is beautifully furnished and elegant throughout. We enjoyed a luxury stay for 9 days. The bedrooms and bathrooms are stylish and plush, the social living areas are spacious also. Top floor allowed the teenagers in our family to have some space away from their parents for films and gaming. The kitchen is of high quality and cooking or BBQ and entertaining for a family of 9-10 was very easy. The owner Greg was incredibly helpful and responsive to our many queries in the weeks before our arrival date and also with very helpful advice during our stay. We enjoyed a lovely canal boating day out from March marina, A day in Ely, and at Holkham beach, visiting Great Bircham windmill also. All worth a visit. Lovely family meal out at the Moorings restaurant and fresh deli shopping at Worzols. Thank you Greg, for allowing us to stay in your lovely home. Beautiful spacious home

Stunning property, ideal location for visiting North Norfolk. Everything you need is there, plenty of pots, pans, towels, cleaning products and a stocked pantry. Spotlessly clean and spacious. Lovely little outdoor area. Our only slight problem was that the bins were already full (as mentioned in a previous review) and the occasional beds two of our party used were not the most comfortable. These are minor issues and we still had a marvelous time.

Excellent luxury property

The house is beautifully decorated, v clean, has a very well equipped kitchen and is lovely quiet setting, but accessible to the main attractions. The owners have thought of everything you could possibly need to have a relaxing stay. Excellent communication, v easy check in. Thank you so much Gregory! Perfect house for our group

This house is fantastic - there was room for all 10 of us with no problems, with everyone getting a bed. The kitchen and living areas are large enough for a big group. There’s two big tables, and separate lounge area, plenty of fridge and pantry space and a wonderful pebble terrace (don’t forget to wear shoes when taking the bins out). There is only one shower and one bath, so for a group of 10 ladies, we had to schedule getting ready, but with a little planning it’s fine! Our only negative was that the bins were full on arrival, so after a weekend of eating and drinking, we had to leave our rubbish on the street.

Amazing stay

This house is beautiful, the large common areas are perfect for entertaining and it is situated on the banks of a river. The area is very peaceful. My only negative was there is only one shower in the house, for twelve ladies it required strategic planning.

Lived up to expectations

Brilliant accommodation for our family birthday gathering - six adults and four children, five and under. Very cold weekend but the house was warm and welcoming after day trips out. Great social spaces - kitchen, living room and top-floor sitting room. Well equipped kitchen (we had a chef come in for dinner on Saturday and he was impressed!), loads of crockery, glassware and cooking pots, big fridge, good Sonos sound system. All in all, value for money and very good place to spend a few days
