“Not as advertised at all. Main picture of brick building is in fact a pub across the canal. Heating not working so they put oil rads in two rooms. I could have stayed as usual in the Rookery for less money. This is one case where you “don’t get what you paid for” Stay away it is awful!”

“We had a very warm welcome from the friendly staff and were shown to the room which was clean and bright. The food that evening was excellent, and as it was a warm evening we spent a pleasant time sitting outside with our drinks afterwards. “Slightly odd stay. The hotel is down a little lane. I didn't realise that there was a charge for parking until I arrived. You need to ring a bell to get in to the hotel and then you get let it. As I arrived there were some people who thought they had a room booked but the person working there could not find it. I was then checked in and taken to my room. Nothing about the hotel was explained. As we went to my room, some parts of the hotel looked grand with impressive furishings, others...

“The room had a lot of spiders (dead and alive as welll, and spider webs everywhere. Could you see them more properly when the lights were on and you saw them going from the lamps to the ceiling and between the desk and the wall. When they cleaned the room they left stains on the sheets. Breakfast was mediocre, there was no fresh vegetables and the only vegetables they did have were fried mushrooms or baked tomatoes ”
