“A unique stay in Bacalar, definitely worth it. Away from the town, nestled in the serene jungle without distractions and crystal clear water down at the lagoon. We took a tour from Bacalar itself on a sailboat, however nice it was we’d probably choose to just stay at the hotel next time - the grounds really are that beautiful. Good to know that wifi is a bit unstable (we hade some issues when trying to pay our taxidriver). ”

“Avoid this place like the plague !!!
The only good things about this hotel is the breakfast and the views of the lagoon.
I booked this place because of the raving reviews and scenic views, but once you arrive you quickly figure out that the reviews are clearly fake.
Cleaning is seriously crappy, me and partner were met with piss stained sheets, piss stained toilet seat, Hair and gunk everywhere you looked. The windows looking out to the lagoon was so dirty you needed to be outside, to at all...

“We had an amazing stay! The hotel is spotless, beautifully maintained, and in the perfect location. Right in front of the hotel is the stunning Esmeralda Cenote, with incredibly clear, crystal-clear water. Just walk out to the deck and you can jump right into the lagoon for a refreshing swim.
The food was absolutely outstanding. Everything we tried was delicious, so there’s no need to leave the hotel to look for restaurants in town. The quality of the food exceeded our expectations.
