■ Features of Macchiato SHONAN
This 50+ year-old house, originally built by a traditional ship carpenter (my grandfather), has been beautifully renovated into a modern yet nostalgic space.
16-Tatami Living Room: Our pride and joy. Look up to see the rare "Funaboko-tenjo" (ship-bottom ceiling) crafted to mimic the hull of a boat. The other side features a prestigious "Kabazaiku" ceiling made from cherry blossom bark.
Obi Art: The walls and hallways showcase beautiful artwork made from my grandmother’s traditional kimono obis (sashes), which change with the seasons to celebrate Japanese beauty.
