A clean well appointed room supplied with a variety of teas/coffees, biscuits with a kettle and waters in the fridge. “The hotel was probably very nice 100 years ago. It is still charming but in need of A total renovation. The hotel is old, worn and neglected, but unfortunately the rooms are also dirty. Cobwebs and dust. Torn sheets and flies in the bathroom. It smells more or less everywhere. Unfortunately there is a lot of seagulls that pooped down the windows and they have nests outside. “We really enjoyed our stay at The Fox Hall Inn. Our room was modern, spotlessly clean, comfortable, good value for money, and the free continental breakfast (delivered to our room) was an added bonus!
The staff were welcoming and attentive and it was the perfect stop off for a couple of nights whilst visiting Barnard Castle, about 10 minutes away by car.
I think a car would be needed to reach the property, but I am unsure of the local bus service.

“We srarted our short stay with Sunday lunch, which was very good - plenty of vegetables which suits us. We then checked in with a very helpful young lady on reception. The room was spacious, with stunning views over Robin Hood's Bay. We're looking forward to breakfast as we've stayed here before and know how good it is. I'm already looking at the calendar with a view to booking our next visit.”
“The reception employees were not service minded during check in and out. I arrived at 11 am and asked about the possibility of early check in (anytime before 15:00 even paid for). The receptionist asked for my name and once I gave it, the reply was No, it's fully booked even though:

"Terrible experience. Couldn’t sleep all night, because of the itchy bed. Same problem for stepmom in room number two the same night.
Neighbour parking is a scam, stayed there 5 minutes and got a fine. No warning from the hotel.
The standards is very old and worn down.
Would never recommend anyone to stay here.
Also, I was only met by arrogance when addressing the issues.
