Cozy home in Wawona
House is like a museum with artifacts of old western themed items and pictures (i.e. Hop Along Cassidy, Lone Ranger, etc). Great deck, very comfortable inside, all the amenities you may think of, or need.

Spacious, quirky lodging in great location
For overall space, this open floor plan is wonderful. The deck additionally adds more living space. For us, the vast amount of collectibles was overwhelming. For someone with dust allergies, this could be problematic. Joe Perry, the host, was gracious and responsive. There was an issue with the drain in one shower which persisted even after the plumber came to check the pipes. The location, however, was very convenient to Mario’s Grove and an easy drive to the Yosemite Valley. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Nostalgia House
Everything you ever needed, but never threw away. The house was overwhelming, and since I’m 72, it brought back decades of memories. Would need to stay there a month to really enjoy it. Maybe snowed in in the winter.

Wonderful Location
The home was perfect for our needs. The beds were comfortable and the owner Joseph was very informative. Terrific location for viewing Mariposa Grove - about 5 minutes away and there are a few really great hikes right from the subdivision area to see waterfalls. The home is within the park so traffic wasn't an issue - though the valley is still a ways away. The cabin kitchen had everything needed to cook all meals. Everything was perfect for our needs.

Fabulous
We had a fabulous stay at this cabin. Everything you could ever want as entertainment for video games to movies to deck games. We had a fabulous time with our young adult children playing shuffleboard and foosball on the deck. Wonderful to sit out there in the evenings watching the birds. Close proximity to Yosemite. What an amazing treasure for our country. I would highly recommend this cabin and area for a wonderful family vacation.

Fantastic stay in national parks paradise.
We had a fantastic time in the cabin! If it wasn't for the beautiful natural sights of Yosemite, we may not have left the cabin itself. Communication before our trip was perfect. Constant weather reports and detailed instructions about the cabin. The rooms were clean and warm. The decor was over the top in the best way. We loved looking through the diverse collection of americana, video games, movies, and books. As an outdoorsman, space enthusiast, film buff, and musical theatre fan, I was in heaven. The model train was the cherry on top. We had a blast playing with it. When we come back to Yosemite and aren't staying in a tent, we will definitely come back here.

Great house in a great surrounding
The communication with Joseph in advance and during the stay was very good. Once we arrived, my son didn't know where to look. So much nice things to see in the house, it's almost a museum. Also the several gaming consoles available made him happy. Nearby the house are all sorts of things to do. Take a small walk to view a nice waterfall or to start a great walk. We would definitely book it again!

Yosemite family visit
We had a wonderful time. The home was very well-stocked with supplies and has a fascinating collection of Americana that we enjoyed looking at. The owner provided detailed and clear instructions on access and use of the home. The location within the Park makes it easy to access parking/hiking sites early before they become crowded.

Nostalgic nook
We loved all of the fun things that Joe has collected and displayed, from a working train set that runs around the ceiling to old-fashioned slide glasses. The cabin is spacious and well-stocked with any kitchen items you may need. Beds very comfortable. Kids thought the trundle beds were awesome. They were also delighted with the Atari and older versions of PlayStation. Joe sent multiple messages on the day of arrival with weather updates, guidance about gas and food, and even news about waterfall flow and road closures. Highly recommend!

A Homey Cabin With Everything You Need
We’ve stayed here multiple times and never been disappointed. The layout is perfect, and the supplies and equipment for cooking are ample. Lots of interesting collections to enjoy and multiple forms of entertainment: something for everyone. We highly recommend a stay here. Great location for exploring all Yosemite has to offer.

Great Place to Stay in Yosemite National Park!
I would recommend the cabin to everyone visiting Yosemite, as a comfy, spacious place to stay during your visit! It is very close to historic Wawona and the Mariposa grove of giant Sequoia trees. When looking online for places to stay at Yosemite National Park, only the Wawona Hotel (1 bed and a bath down the hall) or a Curry Village camping tent were available. I was excited to find this VRBO cabin inside Yosemite for our stay. It was much nicer with 3-4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen and laundry facilities. The owners decorated the place, so one could spend hours looking around and always find something new to see. Also, the owners provided very useful information about the park. For example, I was able to identify this beautiful bird that I saw with blue eyebrows as a Stellar Jay, from a pamphlet at the cabin. In addition, the owners notified us about the annular eclipse, so we saw the eclipse from there.

Dads 90th birthday
We were all staying in Wawona for my dads 90th birthday. My dad was able to use the ramp. We had 3 cabins for 15 of us to celebrate his life in Yosemite, his favorite place to be. Thank you. Mom, dad, his nurse and I enjoyed your every interesting home. Lots of fun things to talk about

Cozy cabin with all amenities
Nice older cabin which could use some modernization but is clean and quaint with multitudes of decorations and collectibles displayed. Bedding and towels were clean. Nice to have access to food products supplied and/or left by previous visitors. Great location off the main road and in walking distance to the grocery store. No issues or problems - but we would have appreciated some bar soap in the bathrooms. Little travel sizes would work well. Thanks for a nice stay!

Fun & Interesting Cabin in Yosemite

Perfect stay in Yosemite
First trip to Yosemite and we could not have picked a better cabin. Very clean. Everything was comfortable, easy to use, easy to find. Labels on the cabinets were a nice touch. It’s fun place. Your kids will love this place. People our age (60s) may enjoy it more. No need to bring your 8-tracks - there here. Communication was terrific. Location was perfect. Very quiet yet not isolated. Deer in the backyard. Wonderful back porch. Thanks. Hope to be back.

Welcoming, Quiet Retreat
When we walked into this home, we immediately felt very welcome and completely at home. Every room has its own personality -- and the master bedroom's king-sized bed provided the most comfortable sleep. As ham radio operators ourselves, we were thrilled with the owner's ham radio. Magazines with very interesting content, videos, BlueRay, VHS - SO many family-oriented movies for those who wish the entertainment. The kitchen is thoroughly equipped -- and I do mean thoroughly! Yosemite Visit
The place was perfect for our family. We needed a place to make a base from as we went touring around Yosemite. The property manager was extremely helpful. While we weren’t in the place much during the day there was a lot of fun things we could have done in it if we did.

Inside Yosemite Park
This property is a unique combination of a mid-century museum and cutting-edge modern tech-systems with one of the best-stocked kitchens I've ever encountered and there are instructions labels everywhere. All the food & condiments are generously offered for your use. It is a good affordable choice for a family/group and although I found all the collectors items a bit overwhelming, there is a lot to see and take in. The best part is that Wawona is inside the park and near the Wawona hotel and Mariposa Grove of trees. We did not have a need to communicate with the property manager, so I didn't know how to rate that.

Grandpas house
This house has the most character of any rental property I’ve ever been to and we loved it. The house is very clean and comfortable. Joe would give us updates months in advance of road closures and the condition of the park and he was overall just very gracious. We would definitely come back here.

Awesome getaway
When i first saw the cabin i was a bit sceptical because it looked cluttered and too much going on, but when we stepped in the cabin, it was actually very cool and interesting. There was alot of pictures, post cards and cool things to look at. Some very old devices that made the cabin just that more interesting. My kids had plenty of board games or gaming systems throughout the house to use and play with. They never had a moment where they were bored. I would defenitely recommend this cabin. Such an awesome unexpected experience.

Everything you need and more
Stayed with our teen daughters and their friends. The place is a 70's time capsule that has enough entertainment to sustain any snowed in vaca and literally everything you could need! We had perfect weather and spent most of the time in the valley, but really enjoyed all the cabin had to offer. My favorite was all the collectibles; the girls really enjoyed the mini pool table; We all enjoyed the deer grazing out back and not having to re-enter the park each morning!

Spacious cabin/Antique museum in a great location!
A cool spacious cabin, 40 minutes south of Yosemite Valley, and practically next-door to the Mariposa Grove of giants, home to some massive Sequoia’s. The cabin was also almost an antique museum of sorts with a big collection of trinkets, toys, games, antiques and communication devices which made it a really cool stay. Highly recommend.

Great Cabin - Excellent Spot
Nestled in Wawona, this cabin is an excellent choice for families even in the middle of winter. It has a substantial amount of comfortable character, is well stocked, and Joe (the owner) provided us with regular weather updates (which were important for our preparation for a winter visit) and information about arrival procedures and the upcoming stay. Whenever we had questions, he responded quickly and was a joy to talk with. Everything is exactly as the listing describes. Beds were comfortable, amenities were easy access and well-stocked, and during nights when temperatures dropped below 20 degrees, the cabin remained warm and cozy. My family and I have stayed at several places around the park over the years, and we unanimously agreed that we would love to return to Joe’s cabin in the near future!

Winter stay at Yosemite
Stayed for 5 days…family of 4…ages from 10 - 40… spectacular cabin to disconnect and bond…it was like getting in a Delorian and setting it to 1970-1990’s. We played 8-tracks, vinyl records, tapes, vhs, dvd’s and even some pool while getting warm by the fireplace. Amazing memories! Great stay and thoughtful landlords.

A FUN cabin
A great relaxed place with wonderful books, music, games, movies, toys, collections. We didn’t have time to take advantage of it all. As certifiable electronic dinosaurs we struggled with all the hookups and remotes. We definitely would like to rent here again (with our grandkids).
