“The host was delightful and thorough (even when we were 'first visit' confused). The house was immaculate and well-appointed. Enjoyed a french-press coffee maker rather than 'normal' device. Great views of the rural desert!FYI: The last mile or so drive is on a very rural dirt road. It has some rocky sections but the view was worth this short adventure. Better not to be driving a low-clearance sports car, but our Nissan Altima did OK.”

“We can’t say enough good things about our stay at the Volcano Vortex! It had the cozy familiarity of a trip to a beloved aunt’s house you’ve been visiting since childhood. The house has everything you’d need on a trip to the desert. There’s even a friendly goat right in the backyard (she was very quiet and polite) as well as a sweet donkey. “Check in was simple, communication was quick and easy. A 5 minute drive to the grocery store and a 10-15 minute drive to Joshua Tree. Gorgeous views from the rooftop deck as well as from inside the house. Lots of space for our family of 4 to rest and reset on our spring break. The tiger, sloth and monkey were a delight to find. ”
