Friendly staff and tasty food including the free breakfast. Quiet and peaceful. Sweet pool and just a stair down to the beach. Clean room and nice bathroom with a great shower w hot water. Schampo and bath gel included.

Ett härligt hotell med fantastisk utsikt mot havet. Nära till flera utflyktsmål och en bra pool. Mysigt och lugnt perfekt för att ligga och läsa vid poolen och lyssna på havet.

The property is beautifully located on a quiet beach, with breathtaking sunsets. The bungalows have been recently redone, every detail in the room and bathroom remind you of Africa. Very clean, with wonderful staff ( lead by the manager, Mr. Luis), good fresh, tasty food ( fruit, fish and seafood, freshly squeezed juice) and good cocktails. Definitely coming back!

Very relaxing. Very quiet. Beautiful beach in front of property. Slightly understaffed in restaurant / bar, but food well priced and very good. If you want to relax, i would strongly reccomend

Wunderbare Anlage
Aya beach Bungalows ist eine Wunderbare Unterkunft! Mit einem wahnsinnigen Ausblick auf das Meer. Der Service ist ausgezeichnet, alle sehr nett und aufmerksam. Das essen ist sehr lecker! Die gesamte Anlage ist sehr gepflegt, sowie die Zimmer. Es wurde regelmäßige sauber gemacht . Wir wurden es jedem 100% weiter empfehlen!

Top locatie.
Een leuke, rustige locatie gelegen aan een mooie wit strand en blauwe zee. Op 1 tot 2 minuten lopen ben je bij het centrum van het dorpje wat zich ook afspeelt aan het strand. De service van de medewerkers is top net als het restaurant. We hebben met een auto het eiland doorkruist waarbij we diverse hotels hebben gehad. Deze locatie behoort zeker bij onze favorieten en een mooie afsluiting van de vakantie. Zelfs een late check out was gratis.

Pick up from the airport by hotel over 1 hour late. Called hotel multiple times each time was told will get call back in 5 minutes but never got called. Finally arrived at hotel not even an apology. Then hot water doesn't work in room. Was told I didn't know how to use faucets until I convinced them to fix it. So they fixed it, but on the final day the hot water didn't work again, plus now no cold water either. Hotel itself was ok, but just too many problems with service. You will be frustrated if you encounter any problems because the staff will tell you hakuna mutata - no problems. Yes, no problems for the, plenty problems for you.

Dear Hawaii We are terribly sorry there was a delay in the taxi. I have forward the complaint to the company who does our taxi to investigate. The hot water in the room was unfortunate and we will look into it again as all the other guest have hot and cold water. Unfortunately you didn't leave your details in order to investigate further. Apologies for the inconvenience it was not our intention.

Good place BUT awful management!
The place is good and the stuff is kind BUT we have a terrible experience connected with our reservation. We've booked and paid a delux double room with qween bed and sofa bed and sea view and we received a comfort double room with no sofa , smaller and with suspicous view from the litte windows instead. We have a terrible view from one of the windows of a moldy wall. We have some problems with the bathroom faucet. It was hard to control the temperature of the water.And the management do nothnig. They gave us Bungalow N 1. DO not go for it. This is their worst room. The manager of the hotel told us to deal the problem with the site that we booked the room from. This is unprofessional and rude. We were totaly disappointed.

Dear Zhenya Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately as we explained an overbooking was detected and you were advised 2 months before your arrival. We have not received any reply on our message and we thought everything was in order. Only when you checked in you complained and we explained that the room you have been relocated to was closer to the sea but unfortunately we did not informed that there was no couch. As any human we do have faults. We did apologies on numerous occasions which you refused to knowledge. Due to being fully booked we were unable to offer alternative room. After you stressed that the couch is not an issue, but you would like a refund we had to contact your travel agent as the procedure requires. This is not rude. I explained to your husband, we are unable to do anything without informing them as per their terms and conditions. Once they have received the information, they have contact you numerous times via email and telephone, which you did not respond to. Just for the record the pictures you have provided are for a site window and not the terrace where are beautiful view opens up as the room is meters from the sea. The moldy bathroom corner will be repainted, thank you for the info. and the rusty screw on the faucet is due to the weather and salty water. All our faucets are replaced yearly due to the weather. Once again thank you for the feedback, we have learned a great deal and we will not make any changes unless the guest confirms. Kind Regards

Die Bungalows sehen auf den Bildern grösser aus als sie in live sind. Viel platz zum auspacken und ausbreiten hat man nicht. Kühlschrank war ebenfalls defekt. Haben 2 mal der Rezeption bescheid gebeben passiert ist aber trotzdem nichts. Erst nach der 3 beschwerde per mail und 2 tage vor der abreise wurde er dann ausgetauscht. Von dem frühstück darf und sollte man nicht viel erwarten. Wer sehr gerne und ausgiebig frühstückt wird nicht erfreulich sein da krin buffet und nur eine kleine auswahl auf dee karte. Hinzu kommt es das es sehr lange gedauert hat bis es kam. Von tag zu tag immer mehr am letzten tag waren es dann bereits 40 min bis dann mal unser frühstück kam. Ebenfalls waren des öfteren keine bananen oder avocados morgens da oder die melonen schmeckten nach zwiebeln. Wenn man mittags oder abend essen möchte was auch nur im hotel möglich ist da weit und breit nichts ist hat man nach 2 tagen die karte durch und weiss ebenfalls nicht mehr was man noch essen kann. Hier kommt ebenfalls hinzu sehr lange warte zeiten und das essen ist ebenfalls nicht der knaller. Das curry beef ist hart oder das chicken schmeckt nach fisch. Ich muss dazu sagen das wir 10 tage da waren und da kann ich wirklich nur von abraten. 2 tage völlig in ordnung da weil die anlage und die bungalows wirklich sehr schln sind. Das personal ist auch super freudlich und hat sich auch immer sehr bemüht und gekümmert und uns. Ebenfalls kein supermarkt etc im dorf vorhanden.

Dear Guest We are terribly sorry that you have not enjoyed your stay at Aya Beach. We have spoke to staff in connection with this review and unfortunately the fridge technician was unable to find the part as quickly as we wished. I have been advised by staff and all have mentioned that lately all suppliers and technician have experienced issues with supply due to late shipments. Breakfast consist of fresh fruits in the morning followed by choice of french toast, butter toast, avocado toast,cereal, fried,scramble or boiled eggs or pancakes. Where you given this options? We know this can be repetitive but unfortunately market in Zanzibar is not as varied as in Europe. In the village we have a couple of shops, who strive to provide drinks, snacks and fruits but as I said they are also limited to choice due to the current market. Thank you for pointing the timing of food preparation, we are currently looking at ways to improve it. Kind Regards

The place is just amazing!!!! We spent a week at aya beach and did not want to leave. Everything was perfect. The bungalow was spacious, nicely decorated, super clean with a great view. The pool is super nice with an amazing view on the beach/ocean. Kizimkazi is a great place to stay in zanzibar Island. The restaurant serves great food as well. The best part of this place is the staff. The people at aya beach are the extremely nice and made our stay wonderful. Dont hesitate to do the day tours with the hotel guides (tobi's great). We absolutely loved our time at Aya Beach Bungalows! We had the bungalow that had french doors all along the front side (bungalow 12) so our first view in the morning and last view at night was right at the Indian ocean!! The tide rolls in late afternoon and remains high until around 8-9 am. The sound of the waves crashing up against the sea wall is so wonderful. Food was good, staff was soooo helpful and friendly. The infinity pool is a great option if you do not want to do the beach and ocean. We really had an excellent stay and I had no complaints. I would highly recommend this place, and I recommend paying the slightly higher fee for bungalow 12 as the view is simply outstanding.

Superhotel nur Preis-Leistung stimmt nicht ganz
Die Bewertung ist deswegen etwas niedriger, da es unserer Meinung nach für die Leistungen überteuert ist. wir haben in Sansibar vier unterschiedliche Hotels gebucht, dieses war mit Abstand am teuersten und da hätten wir uns auch etwas mehr erwartet. Prinzipiell ist zu sagen, dass die Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft des Personals sehr hoch ist. allerdings reagiert das Personal und agiert nicht (man musste immer auf etwas hinweisen, dann hat es sofort funktioniert. Aber das hätte gar nicht passieren müssen. Beispiel: Kaffeelöffel fehlten beim Frühstück, Gläser für den Saft fehlten beim Frühstück,... wenn man darauf hingewiesen hat wurde es sofort gebracht.). Die Anlage selbst ist sehr schön und auch sehr gut gelegen. die Zimmer sind sauber und die Rezeption ist versucht, alle Wünsche zu erfüllen (Ausflüge, Taxibestellungen, Transfers,...), Wifi war nicht immer und schon gar nicht überall gegeben.

Aya is a beautiful property and the photos on the web were truthful. Everything was perfect, however, we had a little issue at the end of our stay when the manager asked us to come and pay for the accommodation. We had already paid through Expedia, and the management didn't seem to be aware of this until I went online and found the receipt showing payment. Seems there should have been better communication between the property and Expedia.

My girlfriend and I spent 3 wonderful days at Aya Beach Bungalows. We were quite exhausted coming off of some days hiking and on safari, and it was the perfect play to relax and unwind. The grounds are beautiful - next to the ocean, great pool, everything well maintained - and the staff were equally welcoming. We were too tired to take advantage of any of the excursions, but there are quite a few options and the staff is more than willing to assist with bookings. Though we did not at all consider it a negative, I will mention that it is a very calm and quiet environment. If you're looking for nightlife and parties, I would steer more towards the north of the island. But if you need a place to catch some z's, read a book, and be treated to excellent food, then I can think of no place better to adopt as your temporary island home.
