“Kitchen was stocked with bread, butter, milk and jam, which was lovely but there was NO tea or coffee. However, given how dirty some of the mugs were, that probably wasn't a bad thing. There were also dirty trays left in the oven and drawer. Rest of cottage was clean thankfully. However, frustrating as limited power points, and no shaver socket in bathroom for toothbrush. “Very pretty cottage. Close to the train station and taxis, and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Foot Path (breath-taking views). An easy walk into Fishguard and restaurants, pubs, grocery store, etc. We give the bed an “8” for comfort, but everything else was perfect or better! The owners left us a bottle of wine and some Welsh cookies, there was plenty of hot water, and the locals were friendly, relaxed and helpful.”

“We had such a lovely week here. It was cold outside around 5 degrees but the cottage was lovely and warm. We wrapped up and went somewhere every day, just a short drive away. Poppit beach, with a cafe which sold amazing doughnuts. Aberporth and Mwnt beaches all lovely and dog friendly this time of year.We visited Cenarth Falls which was lovely and walked from Llechryd to Cilgerran along the river. We had fish and chips from the local chip shop which were great. Coming back to Woodpecker Rest...

"Well maintained basic room in Aberporth a few minutes walk from the park and beaches. Clean, nicely decorated row of rooms on top of a coffee shop, easy free parking in back. Kettle and small kitchen part but not fully equipped for cooking. Several restaurants around but kitchens seem to close at 8 pm, small convenience store just down the street. As in many hotels in the UK, floor was carpeted. Would have been nice with a fan as it was quite warm."
