Serene Solitude fjällstuga i Allenspark

Denna stuga ligger nära både Wild Basin-ingången till Rocky Mountain National Park och Long's Peak trail head, och är idealisk för alla som letar efter en bas för vandring, ridning, klättring, jakt eller bara lazing och star staring.

På första våningen finns ett kombinerat kök, matsal och vardagsrum, samt två sovrum och badkar. På övervåningen är ett stort loft med utsikt över vardagsrummet som de flesta gäster använder som sovrummet på grund av dess stora fönster, king size-sängen och dess fantastiska utsikt över Mt. Meeker.

Huset ligger på en och en halv tunnland. Det ligger intill Ponderosa Lodge (fastighet # 803298) som vi ofta hyr i tandem (det är cirka 100 meter nedför kullen) och som kan nås via en stig. Många familjer har hyrt båda husen tillsammans för släktträffar och bröllop.

Vi köpte huset 2001, även om Susie hade hoppats på att köpa det sedan hon satt sin fot 1967, när hennes föräldrar tog familjen för att träffa byggaren innan de köpte huset nedför kullen.

Det har alltid varit något mycket speciellt med denna stuga. Det känns isolerat medan det fortfarande är nära bekvämligheter. Det är en enkel 15 minuters bilresa till Estes, 45 minuter till Boulder och 5 minuter till den blomstrande metropolen Allenspark (befolkning 250!). Meeker Park Lodge Livery ligger en kort promenad och på sommaren har lodgen en liten livsmedelsbutik för sista minuten-varor.

Vi är omgivna av Rocky Mountain National Park och Roosevelt National Forest, så det går vandringar i praktiskt taget alla riktningar, från enkla promenader till spårhuvudet för en av Colorados magnifika 14'ers. The Long's Peak trail head är bara en kort bilresa.

Susies familj började komma ut till detta område 1955 och har haft underverken i detta område under varje säsong. Överflödet av vilda djur (älg, älg, muldjur, bobcats, hökar, ugglor, chipmunks, ekorrar, sett dem alla!) kan avnjutas från däck.

Huset är fullt möblerat och har satellit och wifi, en platt-TV, DVD, spel, böcker och en välkomnande vedspis i vardagsrummet.

Vi har nyligen lagt in en ny king size-madrass och gjort några andra uppgraderingar. Det är ett fantastiskt hus.

The cabin is a charming place, beautifully appointed. It had everything we needed. The in house washer and dryer worked beautifully and was very convenient. Because of our ages we didn’t take advantage of the lovely loft bedroom (steep stairs). Both the owner and appointed manager were very quick and gracious to respond to any question we had. Very helpful. Two things kept us from rating it as excellent. The front deck had limited shade during parts of the day; and the queen bed on the first floor where we slept could be a little more comfortable. It may be ready for a new mattress.

Perfect Lovation

Perfect

The property is aptly named Serene Solitude Cabin. It featured a lovely dining room table where our family could play games in the evening. We enjoyed drinking coffee and making plans on the deck in the mornings. My favorite part was waking up and watching the sunrise over the mountains from bed.

Awesome home & location to enjoy the outdoors

We loved the outdoor deck to relax and enjoy the woods and wild turkeys (who knew they could fly). Hiking was a short drive to many different trails inside and outside Rocky Mountain National Park. Loft bedroom skylights were fantastic to look at the stars late at night.

Great Cabin and Location

We have stayed in quite a few VRBO properties and this one is by far one of the best. The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils, pots and pans, dishes, and mixing bowls. The front deck was very quiet and offered some good views. The property was close to the national park and several trailheads, along with just a short drive to Estes Park. I highly recommend this property is you are planning a trip to the area! The Longs Peak trail was astounding up to Chasm Lake! If we decide to visit the area again(this was our 3rd time), we will try to stay here again if the cabin is open for our dates. Susan is a great host and answered an email very promptly.

Great spot near RMNP

The location and setting of the property were perfect! Stunning views of the mountains and close to Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park, but truly felt miles away from everything! House was clean and well appointed. Loved sitting out on the deck.

Loved Solitude Cabin!

The pictures do not do justice to this cozy cabin! We loved the authentic mountain vibe and how charming and CLEAn it was! Waking up to Mountain View’s and feeling like you’re in the middle of the woods is a unique aspect of staying here. We hated to leave!

Get away from the hustle and bustle

If you’re looking for a location close to RMNP but still want solitude, this is the cabin for you. Both the Long’s Peak and Wild Basin entrances are 5 minutes away. Estes Park is only about 20 minutes and the drive is beautiful. The cabin is small and rustic, but has everything you need. It made our childhood dreams of living in an A-frame in the woods come true.. The view from the bed in the loft bedroom in the early morning and on starry nights is amazing! The stairs are steep. We took a little flashlight up with us to see in the middle of the night without waking the other person. The living room furniture definitely needs to be replaced, but everything was very clean. Our biggest con has nothing to do with the cabin itself, but rather the pet fee. We have a 20lb, non-shedding dog and at $50/night, this added up to a whopping $550 for our 11 night stay. We did not notice this when we booked and at that time it was too late to change. All in all, we loved the cabin and would stay there again if the pet fee was a little more reasonable.

The location of this property is in close proximity to many major trailheads, including wild basin. I would recommend this property for avid hikers who want an early jump on the day. The cabin itself could use some updates.

Perfect Cabin for Our Allenspark Vacation!

Solitude was just the cabin we needed for our stay in Allenspark. Our nine year old grandson loves Lego and the Lego A frame kit, so he appreciated the architecture of this cabin. These are what the adults appreciated so much: the comfortable and inviting decor (loved the wall quilts and local historic pictures); the well stocked kitchen (even though we did not do a lot of cooking, it was amazing how efficiently so much was in the kitchen); the fantastic views of Mt Meeker; the night views from the loft windows; eating meals on the deck; the comfortable seating for family gatherings in the living room; naps on the deck; how well the cabin was maintained and how clean everything was; the location for enjoying the local sites and Rocky Mt Nat Park. We have been coming to Allenspark since 1967 and Solitude cabin helped us make this another memorable and "historic" visit!

Wonderful place!

Perfect get a way

It was a perfect get a way with my family. The cabin was more than accommodating for all our needs. There was more than enough blankets to keep us warm and towels to keep us clean. Very beautiful cabin, I would recommend this place to anyone.

The mountains are calling

This cabin was the most incredible place to spend a week exploring RMNP and the surrounding areas! It was the ideal place to have your morning coffee on the porch, rest after a hike, make dinner and play games. We will be coming back for sure!

Good Location for Exploring RMNP

Well-maintained and comfortable cabin for our party of four. Nice mountain ambience. Minutes away from Wild Basin entrance to RMNP via car. You can also access the park from a trail just north of property near a little camp ground on the other side of of Highway 7. Easy drive into Estes Park and main eastern entrances to RMNP.

great for anniversary
