The Space:

Hey there! Check out our awesome Ames retreat, it's a great spot for groups or families. The living and dining area is super open, perfect for hanging out. The living room has comfy seating too. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the modern stuff. You can chill out on the outdoor patio. Plus, there's a laundry area and free garage parking. It's a fantastic place for families and groups to enjoy!



Guest Access:

Guests have access to the entire house: four bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, dining area, and kitchen. Enjoy the outdoor patio, garden/backyard, and free garage parking. Amenities include a laundry facilities, and wireless internet.

The house was clean! Communication was excellent!! I would recommend a few things but none of them will lower my rating! Please check with your guests first before using a plug in scent device. When we arrived it was very strong and a bit too much. We are all sensitive to artificial scents. Maybe just open a few windows to air the house out while the cleaning crew is there instead? Thanks for the stainless steel cooking pots! Those are great. The addition of a tea pot would be very nice. And the house having ziplocks, Saran Wrap and Reynolds wrap would be great (there is a chance I just didn’t find them)! Also, I’m not going to lower my rating over this but I think having mattress pads and pillow protectors under the pillow cases would be a nice touch and they would protect your mattresses and pillows. Again, these are just my thoughts and didn’t affect the quality of my stay. We apprenticed the house so much. The location was perfect and we had a wonderful stay in Ames! Thanks for everything!

Outside of home, trees and borders were terribly overgrown and sidewalks were in very bad shape. Inside, house was OK. Generally clean, but the furniture and beds are rough. Don't try using the coffee table. Glass top, not secured on an incredibly flimsy base. Everyone complained about their beds being incredibly uncomfortable. Sheets were very old and pilled flannel sheets. Kitchen was ok and had enough for our needs, but the worst kuerig machine i've ever used. But worst, we booked this house at what I would consider a reasonable price for what and where it is (a decent drive from campus). However, it was a football weekend, and once ALL OTHER vrbo's were sold out, the owner then told use that we would have to pay 3x what we booked it for or he would cancel the reservation. I reached out to VRBO, they stated he claimed it was a software problem on his end, which we all know is 100% false. He pulled a bait and switch and left us with no options but to overpay for a subpar rental. Avoid this property owner as he has no integrity. I'm assuming i'm not the first person he's pulled this with.

Caution

No problem with check in process however once we arrived - the home had not been cleaned and no clean bedding. We talked with the overnight contact who said they would send a house cleaner but not for 45 minutes & it was 11:00pm or we could go to another Vrbo with not enough beds. Neither option worked for our large group. We asked for a refund for our two nights as we had to make other arrangements. We were only refunded for one night.

Great family weekend!

Great location and great place to get together with family for a home game! Three private bedrooms and a basement with lots of room for people to sleep. Bathroom space is somewhat limited for a large group but overall a very clean, nice place to stay. Would stay again for sure :)

Good week

It was easy to find, easy to access the property. The basement bedroom was alil scary. The upstairs bedrooms were nice and beds were comfortable. Limited cooking utensils and pots and pans, plenty of plates, cups and such. Plenty of towels and blankets. Was a pretty good overall stay for us for the week.

College reunion

Nice place for reunion of 5 college friends. It was nice to have a bed for each of us. However, 2 of the beds were in an unfinished basement, basically a big open space. It would be very helpful if there was a bathroom (or at least a powder room) there. While the listing was technically correct, it was a little misleading saying there are 5 beds.. Overall, we had a great stay as the main floor was well furnished. Nice walk to nearby coffee shop.

Quiet Neighborhood

Sam was great to work with. He replied to our concerns quickly. We were able to use the garage and that was a nice plus. We had eight people staying and plently of beds available-be aware there are only two bathrooms and one is located in the master bedroom. Wish there was a larger dining room table. All in all the place was very clean and we enjoyed our stay.

Great for a small group!

Clean home and convenient location. Beds for 10, but living space is a little small for a group this size, e.g. kitchen table only had four chairs. Minimal kitchen untensils/pots/pans, so if you plan on cooking you may want to bring a few things.
