The check-in process was smooth overall, though guests should note there are high stairs at both main entrances. Unfortunately, the property did not appear to be well maintained or fully cleaned prior to our arrival. One condo had a strong, unpleasant odor upon entry, and several showers were not clean. In one master bedroom, the bedding—including the comforter, sheets, mattress pad, and mattress—was visibly soiled. One of our guests even purchased a new mattress pad to feel comfortable sleeping there.We also noticed several maintenance concerns: multiple kitchen cabinet doors hanging by one hinge, missing towel bars with unrepaired holes in the walls, closets without hanging rods, and shower doors that were not securely installed.Attempts to contact management during our stay for resolution were largely ineffective, despite instructions throughout the property encouraging guests to reach out if issues arose. Overall, the service and responsiveness were disappointing.I would not recommend this property in its current condition. If the cleanliness and maintenance issues are addressed and communication with management improves, it could become a much better experience. We have had many positive stays in Alaska—especially through VRBO—but this particular property, managed by Vacasa, did not meet those standards.
