Jane is a wonderful host and made sure we had everything (and more) that we needed throughout our stay. The house is really large and comfortable with lots of lovely touches to make it feel really homely.
The kitchen is huge and is very well stocked with even all of the basic food items provided. The living space is also big and very comfortable. We were using the log burner and kept very cosy throughout our 5 weeks stay over November and December.
Upstairs there are 2 bathrooms, one is an ensuite to the master bedroom which also has a large sunny balcony. There are another 2 lovely bedrooms.
Outside is a large sunny patio and garden area with outdoor furniture and a barbecue.
The location is rural and beautiful. We walked to the shops in Arganil which took about 20 minutes. There are good size supermarkets and lots of nice coffee shops and a very good bakery too. Around the area are so many great places to visit. I would particularly recommend Fraga da Pena which is a series of beautiful pools and waterfalls but Jane has a very detailed information pack at the cottage with everything you might need to know.
I would definitely recommend staying here if you like mountains, being in nature and the more authentic Portugal, off the main tourist agenda but plenty to do and see.
