“Stayed for 2 nights pre-cruise. Nice and conveniently located to the port in the center of Papeete. Very clean and new, lovely bathroom and great beds, rooms are large. The pool in the hotel is quite small and there are watercycling-classes for people not staying at the hotel at least 2 times a day, but that seems to be a standard on Tahiti, it was a fact in every place we stayed in. Breakfast and all food/drinks are ridiculously priced, so we did not try it out. There is a gas-station just...

“We stayed in a overwater bungalow, which had great snorkelling access and possibility to dive straight into the water (only the ones further out was like this). Very crowded on Saturday as many local people could book a one day package.
We had an misunderstood regarding breakfast, where we were offered a discount for including breakfast. We specifically asked several times if the price was for our WHOLE stay, which the woman at the desk said yes.
However, when we checked out we found out...

“Very nice, modern hotel with beautiful lobby and pool. Check in was very slow though.
Room nice, very comfortable bed. Unfortunately we had no hot water for some time. Took them a while to fix and after that we had no cold water :)
Good situated, close to airport, close to town.
Service is overall good and cleaning was ok but not excellent. Why? Well… we found hair in one of the towels, one of the body lotions was used. Not a big deal, but normally I haven’t had this many “problems” at a Hilton...

“Cook’s Bay is one of the most wonderful places we’ve ever stayed, and we’ve stayed at many fantastic places around the world. The staff was amazingly nice. The rooms were spotless. The beds were very comfortable. The air-conditioning worked. The showers were hot. The towels were first class. Most important for us was the amazing snorkeling right off the edge of the property and the amazing views of the beautiful mountains of Moorea. "Overall Experience:
The leisure facilities here are excellent. I especially loved the sand-bottom pool and the spacious pool area with two pools and very comfortable sunbeds. Complimentary hot and cold water, towels, and even sunscreen are available by the pools, which is very convenient. The lagoonarium is a real highlight, with easy access for snorkeling (definitely bring bathing shoes due to stonefish). It’s lovely to watch the turtles swimming by. Some evenings feature Polynesian dance shows. I appreciated the inclusivity of performers of different sizes, shapes, and ages. The vegetarian dish I ordered was outstanding-easily the best and most thoughtfully composed vegetarian meal I had during an entire month in French Polynesia. There’s also a nice gift shop with reasonable prices. They offer a shuttle to central Papeete a few times a day at a lower cost than a taxi, which is a nice service.
Room:
This is a large resort, so you may need to walk a bit to get to your room. It’s worth requesting a room close to the area of the resort where you plan to spend most of your time. While there was nothing wrong with the room I got, it didn’t feel particularly special given the price. I had a room facing the side of one of the buildings, which likely impacted the experience. If I were to stay again, I would definitely pay extra for an ocean-facing room, as it seems much more worth it at this price point.
