“The property is 400 yrs old so expect things to be uneven. The current owners have only been there a few years so maybe they still have work to do. The bedrooms are described on the website as "stylish "....I would say plain. The bedding was clean, bathroom ok but it was difficult to get the shower to the right temperature...it was either boiling or cold. Room 5 had a frosted window but it was hot so we had it open. The room could do with a slight update....e.g. more plug sockets and a bigger...

“The actual room was very clean. Bed was comfortable and clean linen. The bar wasn't open in the day, but that was okay. There are plenty of pubs and bars a five minute walk away. A steep hill, though, for those with disabilities. Lots to see in the upper town. Very historical buildings. Lots to explore. The food on the night was absolutely fantastic! 5 star for us. The flavours were amazing, and extremely well priced. We would definitely stay again.”

“The beautiful setting and views of the river Severn were wonderful. The staff were always extremely helpful and welcoming. The bedroom was very comfortable and clean. The breakfasts and evening meals were of very good quality. It was our first visit to Shropshire and we would certainly come back to the Riverside Inn which was perfectly situated for day trips to Shrewsbury, Ironbridge and David Austin Roses, among other places.”

The breakfast was outstanding - lots of choice and super fresh and tasty. Joules’ baking was a great surprise treat, a lovely touch in our room on arrival and the Brownies later in our stay were out of this world! Our room was spotless, very comfy bed, lovely armchairs with the spectacular view over Ironbridge and the valley....

“Old building with a pub on the lower floor right in the middle of Ironbrigde Gorge area. Good food in the pub - not the ordinary pub grub - much more variate d and better cooked. Locals seem to like this place too which adds to the atmosphere. Rooms clean, staff very friendly and rooms well equipped with water boiler, free wifi and more. Would stay here again if ever passing Ironbridge Gorge again.”
