1. Stillwater Stay Pet-Friendly

Belhaven

“Everything seemed fine at first. On our first night my daughter saw and killed a giant brown spider. Followed by multiple other bugs. There were 4 total daddy long legs. The second bed was a couch pull out that was thin and springy. There were no sheets on the pull out, but there were loose sheets to put on that were in the cabinet. The pillows were extremely thin. Both my daughter and I woke up with sore necks and backs both days. My daughter woke up feeling sick the first day and worse the...

3. JJ's Lodge: Fisherman’s & Hunters Getaway

Scranton

“No shampoo or body wash in house. No laundry detergent for the laundry machines. Host was nice and answers the phone quickly, but the excuse of them losing money on people stealing the shampoo/body wash is no excuse. Luckily family dollar nearby wasn’t closed yet. $10 to buy full bottles of face wash, shampoo, body wash. They should at least tell guests early that they don’t provide those, otherwise if someone comes late expecting that to be available, after all stores are closed, what are they...

9. Historic Downtown New Bern Retreat - Pet Friendly

New Berns historiska distrikt

“We enjoyed our stay at this historic property within walking distance to downtown New Bern. The features and historic quirks made the house extra special. It was clean and cozy. While we didn't bring our pet, the home is pet friendly, as advertised. The couch provided an additional firm sleeping option in addition to the 2 upstairs bedrooms; instead of a bed pulling up from the sofa, you folded out additional cushions and slept directly on the sofa. The few downsides were lack of dishwasher and...

13. Historic River House with Sunrise Views

Riverside historiska distrikt

“Really cute house. Sheets were nice and soft. Everything was nice and clean. HVAC was loud. The air was a tiny bit musty but that’ll probably go away if they change the intake filters. Maybe the noise will lessen as well since the system won’t have to strain so hard to pull air into it. The view was not what I expected but that’s on me I think. I was supposed to be there for work but cancelled my participation in Mumfest and brought my husband instead for a night away. We both really...
