  • Johnson Homestead ligger nära den södra änden av Bailey Island, Maine. Det kan vara en idealisk lugn plats för de gäster som letar efter vila och avkoppling, men erbjuder också möjligheter för familjer som är intresserade av många olika utomhusaktiviteter som båtliv, kajakpaddling, fiske, bad. Från mitten av september till november är det idealiskt beläget för att ta dagsutflykter genom hela Maine-kusten och till och med New Hampshire och titta på det vackra höstlövet.
    Johnson Homestead är ett fullt möblerat hus med fyra sovrum med 2 badrum som vetter ut mot ingången till Mackeral Cove. Det rymmer endast 6-8 gäster. VOLKNING av denna regel kan resultera i antingen omedelbar utvisning eller en ytterligare $ 650 gästavgift som ska betalas av reservationsgäster.
    På en klar dag är Mount Washington tydligt synligt i fjärran och solnedgångarna på kvällen kan vara spektakulära. Huset har också en underbar österläge sol veranda, perfekt för morgonkaffe, spela spel, äta måltider eller bara enstaka avslappnande tupplur. "Little Harbour" är en semi-privat strand bakom huset perfekt för bad, solbad eller picknick.
    Det finns en fiskarverkstad bakom huset där en av Johnson hummerarna alltid är villig att stoppa och prata eller ta din dagliga beställning av hummer, som de har gjort i generationer.

    Johnson Homestead: Detta är ett underbart 1 våningshus med en spektakulär utsikt över Casco Bay och tillgång till "Little Harbour" en semi-privat strand. Husets design möjliggör enkel åtkomlighet för uppdrag som kan ha det behovet. Vår hyra är möblerad med 4 sovrum, 2 badrum, kök / matsal, tvättmaskin och torktumlare. Du kan kliva in dörren och känna dig som hemma. Det finns centralvärme om du möter en kylig sen vår eller höstdag.
    För dig som gillar Maine hummer tar ägaren dagliga beställningar. Från hans hummerfälla som du levererat till ditt middagsbord, allt på samma dag. Det är färskt!

The house is an older Maine homestead in a perfect location. it has plenty of space with comfortable beds and furniture. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots and pans. We have stayed here before and it is our favorite local property.

Great Get Away

This house on Bailey Island is a very restful spot: in a quiet neighborhood, great for long walks, wonderful sunsets and 4 places to eat close by. David Johnson, our host, was a wealth of knowledge, quick to meet our needs and patient with our questions about lobstering. We had a great week there.

Wonderful stay

The Johnson homestead was so warm and inviting! We enjoyed visiting with Mr. Johnson and his family. They are very nice people. The beach is a short walk behind the house and we enjoyed searching for the perfect shells! The house was very clean and Had really comfortable beds!! We will hopefully be back with our family next year!!

It is definitely an older home, but was comfortable and was very homey. We were brought 4 live lobsters on our first night- only $35 total for the 4!! Wish our stay could have been longer. Thank you, David and Doreen!

Lovely stay at the Johnson homestead

This property is a family home located almost at the end of Baileys island. The spirit of the home is warmth and heritage with love. The owners are responsive and helpful. As described there is seaview in front and back. Close to all things on Bailey and Orrs island. We had a wonderful view of the Northern lights!! Automatic generator for those gale type nights. Comfortable and well cared for home. A great place to come back to after a day of wandering.

Tip of Bailey Island, a lovely spot.

Our family had a lovely time here. There is water access in front of the house (across the road) and behind the house (across the yard and down a hill), and lovely views of the cove from the living room. Plenty of lawn to set up croquet and badminton, and a screened in back porch for meals. 4 minute walk to the beach at Lands End. This is a family home and as such is not fancy but we found it very comfortable and perfect for a base for adventures as well as relaxing on a rainy morning. Well supplied kitchen, towels, and a grill!

Great week on Bailey Island

We had a great stay with extended family. The house is much larger than it looks and the bedrooms are all a pretty good size. There were 7 of us and we had plenty of room. The only issue i had was it was a bit warm for me not having a/c, but we knew that when we booked. They do have many fans in the house and that helped a lot. This was our first time staying on Bailey Island and we loved it. The owner of the house lives next door and his sister lives on the other side and they, along with everyone else we met on the island, were so nice. The house is convenient to walk down to the lands end gift shop and we also walked to the giant stairs. Be prepared if you stay on the island, everything else is a bit of a trip. I didnt mind it one bit, but some people might find that difficult. But its a beautiful place to visit and I think we will be back.

Lodging, owners and property manager were wonderful

The lodging was every thing we expected and more. The owners & property manager were delightful. My only complaint was with VRBO who thinks we should know their policies and procedures. I think sending out Check In information only 72 hours before arrival is not enough time. Plus I did not look for it at 72 hours so I missed the email and got my information even later. I panicked when I did get it because I thought we had a multiple vehicles parking issue and it was not clear to me how to contact someone at that late date (within 24 hours of arrival.) I think VRBO should send out check in information sooner so we have time to notify all parties involved since we were coming from different directions and the contact person should be a telephone number and not an email. I had other questions post payment of rental and it was not clear on how to talk to a live person. This created last minute and unnecessary anxiety. Once communication was clear all issues were resolved. Our stay was wonderful.

Trip to Grandma's House

This nautical themed house has everything for a week long stay. Lots of baking, cookware, silverware, tableware and glasses. There are some spices, plastic wrap and paper towels. The house has plenty of book shelves filled with interesting reads. There is a covered and screened porch off the back that makes a great place for breakfast and morning coffee. Any family of multiple generations would feel comfortable here. Plenty of yard for children to play. Great location for access to hiking trails, easy marketing on the island and restaurants with fresh seafood. Our host provided fresh lobsters for an evening meal! The location is quiet with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The road can be a bit busy during the day so if you walk it - be careful. The home has many touches of family and island history. My only note would be if you have mold allergies there is some mold in the bath and kitchen not uncommon for a waterside location.

Beautiful ocean views front and back

David, the owner, was available to answer any questions promptly. The four large bedrooms served our group very well. The highlight of the house is the great back yard with beautiful big trees giving shade during the day. The area is one of Maine's treasures.
