Nestled into the jungle with expansive ocean views, Casa de Paz invites you to step out of your busy life and relax. Youâll be greeted by gentle tropical breezes, chattering monkeys, vibrant toucans as you travel up a short mountain road. Conveniently located between Uvita and Ojochal, with a 2-minute drive to private beach access, youâll have all necessities nearby.
Newly remodeled, our house is designed with intention, creating a space that feels like home. Luxury linens, a fully supplied kitchen, and locally crafted furniture and art, each item was curated to bring joy.
The open concept main house flows out unto the large deck with a covered outdoor living and dining area and pool all with blue and white water ocean views. The indoor living room comfortably seats 6 while watching a movie on the state-of-the-art Samsung Art TV.
With the home chef in mind, we brought our favorite appliances to make cooking as simple and joyful as possible. An Insta Pot, Insta Pot Blender, food processor, Le Creuset cast iron dutch oven, gas BBQ and other thoughtful items, hopefully eliminate the barrier to cooking. Of course, we can recommend accomplished chefs to come and cook for you in our kitchen if cooking isnât your definition of relaxation.
A good nightâs sleep is crucial to a great vacation. With that in mind, we have top of the line Serta mattresses in both the king and queen bedrooms in the main house. Both air-conditioned bedrooms have Pottery Barn comforters and 600 thread count sheets. Each bedroom has an outdoor seating area with ocean views. The bathrooms in both the queen and king bedrooms can be accessed from the pool via opaque garden doors. The design of the showers will give you an outdoor tropical showering experience.
The pool provides for a great cool down opportunity or just enjoy floating around with your favorite beverage. Views are stunning out over the ocean and islands from the pool or the large patio where you can take a nap, do some yoga, or catch up on some reading.
Exiting the pool deck, you walk down the suspended bridge to the jungle tree house. In creating the space, we imagined a place where you could truly sleep in the jungle, experiencing all the sights and sounds of nature, while being comfortable. 2 full bunk beds with twins on top can comfortably sleep four guests. An indoor bathroom, outdoor shower and air conditioning give both the comforts and necessities of tropical living. Located 50â from the main house and 20â up in the forest canopy, watching the fireflies at night or the monkeys during the day is easy from the deck in the large sectional couch or hanging hammock chairs.
We offer full concierge service to assist you with tours, activities, car rentals, airport transport, restaurant reservations and any other information about the area. We can even arrange grocery shopping, a private chef or catering of your choice. Amenities include telephone, Smart TV, high speed internet fully equipped gourmet kitchen, washers/dryers, gas outdoor BBQ, all linens and bathroom, beach and pool towels. For your private beach enjoyment we provide boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrellas.
Approved guests can access the entire property. Doors to the home are electronic and there is a gate code and beach access.

The Southern Zone of Costa Rica is known for its laid back vibe and three of the most magical towns in Costa Rica: Dominical, Ojochal, and Uvita. Rainforests, legendary surf spots, long stretches of beaches, an abundance of rich terrain and a laid-back atmosphere define this area. Itâs a rare place on earth. While development has picked up recent years due to improved roadways and access to the area, the development and conservation regulations ensure this area will never become a noisy resort town with overbearing skyscrapers.
Along the Costa Ballena lie Dominical, Uvita, and Ojochal. These three Southern Zone coastal towns are off the radar hot spots. Dominical is a legendary surf spot. Uvita is a commercial center. Ojochal is a small village in the jungle. Deep blue waters meet the towering mountains and green jungles forming a breathtaking landscape that is raw, pure and clean. This is a place for adventurers and those seeking a more laid-back lifestyle.
Area excursions include whale and dolphin tours, zip lining and canopy tours, scuba diving, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, hiking, Nauyaca Falls, world-famous beaches, surfing, wildlife tours, river rafting, sea kayaking, paddle boarding, bird watching, golf, photography, horseback riding, festivals, and more. The Dominical/Uvita area also offers various yoga classes, retreats, and spas.
Dominical
Dominical attracts surfers from around the world each year to its legendary waves. The waters here are not for swimming and the waves are legendary. Making the trek to Dominical is a surferâs pilgrimage. This haven beyond its legendary surf is an attractive laid-back village with a few restaurants and shops. Surrounded by estuaries, mangroves, and marshes, the area has an abundance of wildlife. Itâs now home to an estimated 700 residents. The pristine environment and warm culture draw surfers and eco-tourists. With lots of yoga and various types of holistic health practitioners mixing with the local culture harmoniously, it is a beacon for wellness. Vegan, raw food, and juicing are common here. Those seeking to live a more sustainable lifestyle flock here. In Dominical, there is time to reflect and just be.
Ojochal
Ojochal is a popular landing spot for expats from North America and Europe. It has grown into a culinary hot spot too. This coastal town is just 30-minutes south of Dominical. With hotels, restaurants, bars, doctorsâ offices and a supermarket, it is a low-key Costa Rica town complete with the conveniences of modern life making it an ideal place to visit. With ATV tours, canopy tours, bird watching and mangroves to explore, there is no shortage of adventures and activities. For surfing, there is Playa Ballena and Playa Uvita nearby.
Uvita
Nestled in between Dominical and Ojochal along the Costa Ballena is magical Uvita. This town has a large supermarket and is probably the most developed area of the three places. Scuba diving, horseback riding, canopy tours and wildlife tours are all nearby. Uvita has grown famous for the hosting the annual music festival, the Envision Festival, which celebrates art, culture, yoga and sustainability each year in February. People flock to this small town in Costa Rica each year for the festival, which draws large crowds.
The magic and charm of these three towns lie in the quiet sustainable development, which protects the pristine ecosystems while also providing a level of comfort. The culture is laid back, health conscious and committed to well-being. There are few places left in the world that can match what the Southern Zone offers as a quiet refuge from the modern world for adventure, fun, and restoration.
CASA DE PAZ is located in the Southern Zone of Costa Rica, approximately a three and one-half hour drive from SJO Airport, and forty-five minutes south of the Quepos Airport. CASA DE PAZ is easily accessible from the Costanera Highway, only a short 3 minute drive up the road. Please note that roads in Costa Rica are often unpaved and a four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended for getting around. For ease of travel, airport transfers by private car can be pre-arranged to bring you directly to the villa and a rental car brought to you at the residence for you during your stay.
