“This is a stunning historic property that’s been beautifully renovated. Love the rooftop pool and the gorgeous dining room/common area/co-working space. I also enjoyed the little perks — the daily dining credit, the free tickets to the Grammy Museum. This is definitely one of the finer options in DTLA — stylish and elegant without being so trendy that it attracts the influencer hoards. This was a very quiet, peaceful, perfect stay!”

“Very nice hotel with a great rooftop bar, a nice little gym, and excellent and attentive service by everyone. Rooms are on the smaller side, even with upgrade, but they are nicely furnished. The bathrobes were torn, and we had to ask for slippers. The food was excellent, and we enjoyed our stay! Definitely one of the top hotels in downtown LA.”

“Very friendly staff in the reception and security very polite and always greeted you with respect. Room clean and fully equipped like refrigirator and coffemaker. Maybe room somewhat not updated but alright. I stayed for a full week and was very pleased. ”

Downtown LA is not a place to be for tourists if you want to see the best of LA. I felt completely safe though on hotel premises, in my single room I had a safe for my valuables and during day time it is of course safe to walk around on the streets nearby but of course keep out/away from the Skid Row area with all the tents....

"One of my worst hotel experiences
Delayed checkin, extremely low bed, poor sound isolation and a noisy rooftop bar, my room was never cleaned in 4 days, got stuck in the elevator and the second elevator was broken "

Downtown LA is not a place to be for tourists if you want to see the best of LA. The homeless people are nice and I never felt threatened but look ahead where you are going on the streets and don’t look down into your phone.
Single room with a skyview at almost the top but a 13 floor building won’t give so much skyview at all in downtown LA.
Some reviewers here have praised the shower, I looked into my shower and thought that’s just a regular shower head but OMG that water pressure was superb!
So I am still recommending this hotel for anyone having a purpose to visit downtown LA (not just random touristing of LA) or a romantic getaway where you want to stay in and old fashioned hotel, enjoy the rooftop bar and going by taxi to a restaurant at the evening when it is dark outside (avoid walking when it is dark!).
The tiles in the bathrooms of my single room was really beautiful and the bed just perfect.
So this hotel can’t do much about its surroundings but the historic elevators could get some more love by hotel management.

"Having a so called resort, or destination fee to cover WiFi and rent bikes is just ridiculous. Include it in the price for the room, instead of inventing idiotic add ons.
Apart from that, nice room, breakfast was decent, but had it not been included in the room, I wouldn’t have paid $28 for it.
This is DTLA so the weak hearted should not go out for walks in the area during the evenings, as there’s a lot of homeless people in the area."
