“The hotel was in need of some tender loving care. It had clearly been a formidable building in its day and stood in extensive grounds but 3 centuries of wear have not been kind. There was no problem with cleanliness and the staff were excellent. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. We chose this hotel because of the leisure facilities and we were not disappointed. The swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi were invigorating. The steam room was out of order during our stay but that did not...

“Parking can be a problem if arriving later in the evening. Follow instructions given by owners. Breakfast is great staff friendly and helpful. Keep entry instructions handy as had a little trouble finding codes. Rooms 7 and 8 are not where you'd think !”

“This has become like our local. We love the hotel, it’s close to the shopping centre, lovely little area, good for children and peaceful. The only issue we found is the mattress was heavily stained, they could do with looking at these as the cleaners would notice this when making the bed and don’t pick up on it. Other than that, we still enjoyed our stay.”

“A nice B&B with an old host, a unique kind of building from 1909 with lots of old furniture etc inside. The room was fairly small, they lowered the temperature during night, I had to get up early and it was a bit cold in the room in the morning. Few places to sit outside the room at 6 am. The surroundings are in the better end but still close to some fairly rough areas”
