âThis hotel is secluded and very peaceful. Perfect to get away from it all. It has a lovely homely feel. The owners are very friendly and always happy to help. The place is spotless. â
âThis was a lovely place to stay, you canât walk to town but the rooms are well appointed, breakfast and dinner were very good and the staff were efficient and friendly. My only negative is the check in is 5.30pm which is late and not in line with many other establishments. 4pm would have suited us better. Overall very good enjoyable stay â
âVery helpful, we were going to be later than anticipated arriving, phoned to let them know, they reassured us it was no problem, everything was ready for our stay.
Check-in at the bar was easy, staff showed us to our studio, staff very cheerful.
Food in the pub was great, not just pub grub.
Only downside, studio was small.â
âVery friendly reception from the landlord Gareth who provided a most enlivening atmosphere in the Duke of Wellington ie a darts match for the men and Easter wreath making for the ladies. No food unfortunately but we found an excellent Italian restaurant in nearby Northallerton. The courtyard room was clean and comfortable, marred only by a very awkward shower - not easy to enter, due to lack of space.â

âWe had a lovely stay, our family room was a little less fancy than the rwat of the hotel but thats fine, the food was lovely and so were the staff.
The pool was nice, the area needs a little bit of a refresh and the spa was out of order but overall we had a loveky stay and will be back. â
âLovely hotel, our room was great and breakfast fantastic. Didnât use the pool, fitness centre or spa so canât comment but they looked nice. Did do a 7km walk run on one of the recommended routes around the hotel which was very scenic. Weâll definitely return when the build is finished and new restaurant is open.â
âThe Royal Oak has a wonderful location in a quiet village setting and visitors can expect a relaxing change of pace. The countryside around is spectacular for England and the people are without exception friendly and helpful. I'm perhaps biased because my family lived in Gt Ayton in the early 19th Century and although I was born in North Yorkshire today, as a visiting southerner it's very much my home ground.
