“Overall, our stay at Surf & Sand was okay. The ocean view was beautiful, and the room was clean and comfortable.
However, there were several areas that fell short of what I would expect from a five-star hotel. The soundproofing was quite poor—we could hear loud music and noise from a party until fairly late at night, even with all the doors and windows completely closed.
The front desk setup also seemed inefficient. There was almost always a long line at reception, and the triage/queue system...
“I arrived at the hotel around 11am and did not expect to get a room until 3-4pm, but my room was ready so I could check in and get settled right away. Pendry also listened to my request of having a room on the higher floors and put me on floor 17. The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. I have absolutely nothing to complain about, my stay was great and I cannot see myself choosing any other hotel if I go back to Newport Beach!”
